Parker Case? For which Gun?
 

I'm attaching a few photos of a Parker Case (I Think) and wondering which of my two Parkers it would most fit the time period. I have a VH 117628 about 1903 and a Trojan 161588 (Unsure). Would appreciate any info on the case as most I have seen on the forum have red rather than the green felt.

There are shops that can reline your case in almost any color. Marvin Huey in Missouri is a suggestion.

Your case is only a "Parker" case in that it houses a Parker shot gun. It appears to be a Brady canvas and leather VC case, made in England, most likely in the 1970's or 80's. These were standard in green felt. The combination lock is of clearly modern manufacture.

The silver oil bottles and snap caps are not original Parker, none exist, and were made in England in the 1980's. They were imported into the US by Dave Parker of Olathe , Kansas , and many were sold through an ad in the Parker Pages. The Olathe Gun Shop remains a prolific dealer in old Parkers.

The paper case label is a fanciful label that was and still is available in distressed and not distressed reproductions from Mike Messina, Long Island. I understand that the labels were designed by Marvin Huey in the 1970's when he lived in Reed Springs , Missouri. They are available in leather at Galazan's. No known true Parker case labels exist.

That said, your case provides a nice presentation for a Parker.

I agree with everything Bruce says; in that it is not 'Parker' in the sense that some gun left the Meriden factory in it. However, I am under the impression that the label is a Tony G. creation, not Mike's. That said, I like it, and have used it in a hammer gun case of my own.

i would be proud to stick any of my parkers in a case that nice even with the green cloth...charlie
