Where to find serial #

I have an 1887 parker hammer shotgun, where do I find the seral # ?

Dean Romig 03-31-2014 08:04 PM

Mr. Baker, after removing the forend and then the barrels you will find the gun's serial number on the "water table" or flat sections visible only after the barrels are removed.
It will also be found on the trigger guard tang (but could be worn to the degree of illegibility.) The serial number will also be found on the left side of the barrel lug.

All of these three should match.

If "Parker Bros." is not on the rib and sides of the receiver, it's not the real deal! We see a lot of knockoffs.

Did Parker make a muzzle loader double barrel ?

Rick Losey 07-26-2015 06:22 PM

Parker Brothers did not

There was a gunmaker in England that did. And there were Belgium counterfeits
