black powder substitutes

I have been a black powder shooter for almost 30 years any thing from 40 cal squirrel riflers to 4 gauge blunderbus I have used all the substitutes I have to clean my guns a couple of times to get that stuff out of my bores I see some of you are using it . check your guns every couple of days after shooting it

I use 1/2 in waxed card wads over the black powder sub. ,in my shot shells. what I would like to see is someone make these wads with a couple of big groves to hold some lube , kind of like the max lube lead bullets. the few I modified myself seem to work real good in keeping the fouling soft and lite. real black powder is easy to clean out. the subs seem to leave a hard fouling after 25 shells or so.

That is what I am saying that flowing will sweat out for a week or so after using substitutes clean often

i have never used the fakes, just the real stuff

but your question leads me to ask why not just use black powder?

I usually just order 25 pounds from Graf & Sons - it saves on the haz mat fee.
