Can a letter be that wrong?
I have a GH, 30" Damascus barrels, sn 57283, all numbers are matching, G on watertable. The serial number range is 1889.
Received my letter on the gun, it states it's a VH with 30" Vulcan barrels, ordered in late 1890. It also states it was sent back to Parker twice (1906 & 1915) to have a new stock & barrels reblued, & for repair of the action. I am now more confused... :banghead: |
If I was you, I's ask Chuck to double check the letter first

57823 matches how you describe your gun.

Chris,
If your so confused, why didn't you send me a PM or e-mail instead of going directly to the forum??? It was a mistake. I'll send you a revised letter, OK? |

Not to hijack a thread, but a friend of mine bought me a Parker Letter on my 0 frame 16 ga. hammer gun as a Christmas present. I would have never thought of that. Just get the serial number, and send it in.
What a thoughtful gift idea! |
Thanks Chuck! Now I need to find out if the stock I have on the gun is one of Parker restocks or by someone else. It seems very thick in the neck.

Pictures would help.
Remington Parkers are noted for the stock generally being thicker in the wrist than Parker Bros. made them. Perhaps yours was restocked by Remington.... perhaps not. Pictures would help. |
