Painted parker

I purchased a 12 ga lifter parts gun that all the metal has been painted. What would be the best method to remove the paint to do the least damage? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

start with WD-40 and 0000 steel wool

Drop it in paint thinner for a good soaking. It wont hurt the metal and it will also soak loose some of the hardened oil and grease.

Won't hurt the wood either. If you can remove the stock, paint remover will help remove oil from the stock head. Remove the but plate and fore arm metal as well as the metal to wood can cause staining. You will need to disassemble the entire gun to properly clean and preserve it. David
