WOW, are both 20 gauge?
Harry |
Harry, oops, yes both are 20ga, but the last photo, now deleted, was from a DHE and I hadn't noticed that it was from a different gun until you brought it to my attention. All photos now are of the same gun.
I like the quail side panel engraving on the late guns. The barrel bluing on the late Rem Parkers is a little softer than earlier guns. I cleaned this one with Flitz and then waxed it but the barrels are still dull. |
Bruce,
I am up for adoption..... Harry |
Bruce ,Nice gun !!! New addition to the collection ??? The Quail engraving are similar to the Quail on the bottom of the receiver on my late Rem. C ,20 Ga. Gun.

From what I've been told, the Remington rust blueing process was slightly different from the process used by Parker Bros. in Meriden. The finish looks a bit duller because of the coarser rusting process used by Remington. Meriden rust blued barrels have a higher sheen, especially in the higher grades, because more iterations and carding was done to obtain the desired 'finished product'.
