Help with interpretation

In interpreting a letter, can anyone tell what "extra for hand stock" means?

Thx, Ray

Additional Forend ???

Maybe Chuck could scan the order for us so we can get your answer. I have read thousands of Parker Brothers orders and don't remember seeing this notation. Help, Chuck. Ray, post the serial number for Chuck's information.

I've seen it before but as "extra long fore hand stock".

Brian Dudley 02-25-2014 10:40 AM

Could be BTFE? Or trap style forend?

Ray Masciarella 02-25-2014 11:07 AM

Bill, Chuck sent me the notation and that is what it says: "extra for hand stock." Like Brian, Chuck also believes it is an order for an extra forend.

Bill Murphy 02-25-2014 12:07 PM

What was the cost?

Ray Masciarella 02-25-2014 01:35 PM

$10 in 1911.

Dean Romig 02-25-2014 01:41 PM

Ten dollars sounds about right for an extractor forend complete.

The order book to nations can be odd. I has seen "check side of stock" be used for checkered cheek panels.
