Parker firing pin question... help...

I have a problem with the R firing pin ( 16 ga. / 1912 ) Parker: Only lightly
indents the primer 3-4 times of 5 firing attempts. L barrel fires fine. The
Parker is a VH in tight, mint condition; looks as though a box of shells fired
at most. Any suggestions that I could try, prior to having a Parker gunsmith
solve my heirloom problem? Thanks!... Charles

Sounds like it is in need of a cleaning. More than likely it is gummed up and needs to be serviced by someone familiar with Parkers.

Parker hammerless guns have conical strikers that drop into a conical recess in the frame and were machined or filed so that only about 1/8" protrudes through the standing breech face. My guess is that some foreign matter is stuck in the conical recess preventing the striker from completing its full travel.
