Trip to Washington DC

Gentlemen,

Once again my wife has invited me to accompany her on a trip while she attends a seminar, in Washington DC this time. Being located in the great Southwest desert, this will be a welcome trip.

While I have been there several times and toured many of the sites, I was wondering if there might be any shooting venues or gun stores within driving distance from the center of DC where we are staying. A drive of an hour to two wouldn't be out of the question for distance.

I often have heard from our east coast friends that there are quaint places to see and I'm hoping someone might share those venues.

Thanks for the help.

Greg

Exactly when are you going to be here, and how many Parkers do you own?

Tourist things West of Washington Harpers Ferry would be top of my list.

Your in the heart of Civil War territory. The museum at the Gettysburg visitors center has many firearms and other implements of destruction to see. Antietam, Chancellorsville, Bull Run, Fredericksburg, are all within driving distance.

Why not try to hook up with Barack for a few rounds of Skeet? LOL!

Another day trip out of DC is East on Rt 50 over the Bay Bridge to Easton. MD. Albrights is a good shop, lot of new shotguns but often has nice old doubles, Easton St Michaels and Oxford are all worth a visit. Maritime museum at St Michaels in particular.

Greg, a good shooting venue would be the Prince George's County Skeet and Trap Center about 1/2 hour north of Washington just off Rt. 295. It is across the street from the Goddard Space Flight Center. This is a great course and they offer SC ($22 per round of 50), trap, skeet, 5 stand and wobble trap (all $6 for 25). Check their website.
Good shooting and enjoy your visit, Tom
