When crows were plenty

Scott and I put down 125 of them today which is our best ever total together. We were shooting a pair of straight grip V's. His a 20ga ejector gun and mine a 12ga VH.

Nice job fellas. It's about time! It's been a slow season. Temps go down to cooler temps, so do the crows....

Do you use lead shot or what ? And then what do you do with a 125 crow ,have a feather party ?

We actually had the owner of a nearby commercial apple farm come over after he saw all the crows flying (hundreds and hundreds) and heard our gunfire. He took 20 of them to freeze and display as scare crows to keep them out of his orchads next year. He told me they have a fondness for the honey crisp apple and eat them 2 weeks before they are ripe hurting his business. There are no farmers around here who like crows, he was quite happy we shot so many.

Charlie I was shooting 2 3/4 dram reloads of 1 1/8 ounce 6's using Green Dot in the cheap Federal hull. Gun is 28" 12ga with .006 and .027 of choke, a good combination.

Pete,

I have an 1892 GH with 28" Damascus barrels. Both are bored .733 with .006 and .027 constriction. It was well taken care of and I really like that choke combination.
