My first Parker 410!
 

Well, I finally bought my first Parker VH 410! It was lot #41 in the Amoskeag auction today.
It's got incorrect case colors for the period, but that can be remedied.
I've included the description and a picture from the auction.
I think I got it for a fair price. It conforms to the serialization book on the configuration except for the 3" chambers. I can't wait to get it. :)

"Description: serial #234884, 410 bore (3") on 000 frame, 26" matted rib barrels choked modified in the right and improved cylinder in the left with bright excellent bores. The barrels and triggerguard retain 99% of a quality restored blue and the frame including the top lever exhibits 99% vivid restored case colors showing some very fine oxidation specks under the top lever. The barrel flats are neatly marked "3" shells" likely done by the restorer. The round knob pistolgrip stock rates very good to excellent displaying some sparse tiny dings and having a crack in the top right side against the frame and a hairline crack behind the top tang over a smooth low sheen rubbed finish. The splinter forearm rates excellent as refinished and the decorative tip, lever release, and base metal all exhibit 99% restored case colors; both it and the grip have crisp checkering. There is a gold monogram shield inlaid into the toeline of the stock and a "dog's head" buttplate is fitted providing a length of 14 1/4" with drops of 1 5/8" at the comb and 2 3/4" at the heel. The gun is equipped with double triggers, extractors, and automatic safety. Being built on a 000 frame the water table has the cutouts for weight reduction as witnessed by its 5 lb. 9 oz. weight. This petite Parker was built in 1930 and shows its pedigree with its quality restoration."

Lucky dog....I have been wanting one for long time. The few that come available are price prohibitive in recent years, $$$ I just can't justify the price they want for them.......)-: Im lucky to have bought a couple repro's with 410/28 barrel sets...(-: They come in at 6lbs-3oz and are the next best thing! Kenny, I was very tempted to snatch one of your sets, but my heart was really set on finding an original Parker. This one has been restored, but it did originally come out of the Meriden factory. That's about as close as I can afford right now.
There are some nice ones coming up in a few weeks at a different auction house but I think they will be very expensive.

I have coveted a VHE 410 skeet gun for decades but alas it hasn't come to pass and now I'm to close to retirement to spend that kind of money on one. My lustfullness for a 410 has been quenched by a Fox FE, NOT a Parker but a nice gun that came at a great price.

There are three straight gripped BHE-Grade .410-bores across the tent from our A.H. Fox Collector's Association booth at The Vintage Cup. One 32-inch with vent rib!!

Maybe one of these days . . . Like some others, this may be a gauge I have to pass up.

Wow! 32 inch w/vent rib! :shock: I would love to see a picture of that if you get the opportunity.
