Will #1 stock fit a #2 frame

Looking for a decent DH stock and found one but its off a #1 frame, mine is a #2 frame? Will it fit?

Jeff Kuss 09-25-2013 07:32 PM

I doubt that it will fit correctly.

Even a stock from a 2-frame may not fit really well. They were all just a little bit different. However, you may get lucky - every once in a while an orphaned part from one gun fits perfectly to an adoptive Parker.

pretty nice d grade stock on ebay rite now cheap...charlie

That stock on eBay is mine.

A number 1 frame stock would be narrower at the head than a 2 frame stock. In some cases, if an original 1 frame stock had some extra wood thickness at the head, it MAY fit a paticular 2 frame action.

As dean said, it is a crap shoot even within frame sizes.

I have listed measurements in the auction for that stock. Best thing is to compare them to your frame.

All frame dimensions are listed on a chart on page 527 of The Parker Story.
