Charlie, lightest 3 pounds 3 ounces on a top action 1 grade 16 gauge and heaviest, 9 pounds 1 ounce on a 36" PH 8 gauge. In comparison, my top action 8 gauge is a featherweight at 7 pounds 6 ounces. All weights are stamped weights.

There will be a set of 10 gauge 5-frame check-hook 30" Twist barrels in the PGCA Silent Auction with a stamped weight of 6 lbs., 8 oz.

how can i bid on these barrels without being there dean... charlie

Dean Romig 09-18-2013 09:57 PM

Charlie, We're sorry to say that only if they do not receive a bid at the Silent Auction will they be made available to members of the PGCA who were unable to attend the Annual Meeting. The only other option I can think of is to make a deal with the buyer of the barrels or to ask someone who will be there to bid for you - up to your maximum of course, and that figure you must tell your bidder before the auction. Your proxy bidder must pay for the barrels and take possession of them at the Annual Meeting and ship them to you.

I know of an 8 ga hamer gun wth 9 lb. 13 oz barrels.
They are 36" twist on a 7 frame.
