Galazan drop in chamber gauge---use on a Parker??
Like many collectors I use the Galazan brass drop in chamber gauge. My Galazan chamber gauge measures 2.790 in 12 ga. Based on tables in The Parker Story the small end of the chamber spec is 2.797 or 2.798 (depending on the era). So if you want an accurate measurement of a Parker 12ga you really need to use a 2.797 gauge---correct?

If you want to be anal about it, paint your gauge with clear nail polish until it reaches the exact chamber diameter. However, it wouldn't be right or possible to use it that way if you tried to measure a tight chamber. I use the Galazan $400 bore micrometer which will measure a 12 gauge chamber. It will give you an exact measurement at all points of the chamber. I wish a $90 bore micrometer would measure a 12 gauge chamber, but, unfortunately, it won't.
