Parker letter?

I own a DH "Pigeon" gun that was part of a 4 gun order by Capt.DuBray in 1904 going to Louisville,Ky.The guns were completed Feb,1905.My gun never made it there. It was sold in Parkers NYC store in 1908.I have stock & order book info, but shouldn't there be record's of who bought it?Thanks

did you check the serial number from the link from the home page, to see if there are records?

the final purchaser is not always available

Normally, an order to the Parker New York Salesroom is the last you will be able to follow the trail. Try Griffin and Howe Research. A few Parkers ended up at A&F, which are listed at G&H, including the first Invincible. Tell us about the configuration of your pigeon gun. I assume you got the DuBray information from a PGCA letter.

In 1999 it was found in one book,in 2003 it was found in both book's.I've wondered for year's who bought it.This is what I have.

These letters refer to two different guns. Do you have the B Grade that sold for 200 plus 25 for ejectors, discounted price 150, or do you have the D Grade that sold for 100? I suggest you ask our present researcher to rehash your gun and get it right. Is your gun a safetyless pigeon gun?

I have the D grade. As you can see I waited a few year's in between letter's as I found the researchers started to come up with a little more info while deciphering the stock & order book's.I find it hard to believe there's no info who purchased it.Bob Beach researched one of my 21's right down to who bought it.

Bill Murphy 07-19-2013 06:46 PM

Sorry to tell you this, but a researcher can only tell you what is in his data. Get Chuck Bishop to rehash what is available to him. There is some information available that Ron Kirby may not have had available to him. Bob Beach tells you what is available to him, Chuck Bishop tells you what is available to him.

I assume times have changed and the PGCA no longer gives the old boy who springs for a letter actual copies of the ledger. I know I never got any of that....

Chuck Bishop 07-19-2013 10:12 PM

Eddie, your research letter from Ron Kirby reflects accurately what we have in our PGCA records. You do know who purchased S/N 130085, it was the Charles Parker Co in NYC who purchased it for $100. Says so right in the letter.

Yes Bob Beach may have told you who purchased that Model 21 but only because A&F or L&D kept that info, not Winchester. Think of it this way, if you buy a Browning from Cabelas, Browning only knows they sold it to Cabelas, not who the final purchaser was, unless of course you return the warranty card.

Greg, read the info in the Research Letter link!
