Jerry,On Remington era guns that same bead was also available in white.Parker/Remington used a bead that the stem was 90 degree's to the bead as in your picture.I hope I am describing this right.

Jerry,Looks to me to one very nice VHE.Whats the serial number? Could you post some more pictures of the beavertail?

240XXX something, I'll look it up and post some other pics. The beavertail does not fit right and the checkering is horrible, just can't be Parker is it? Jerry

Jerry ..Na I don,t think that is factory. Look on the brite side. You already have all the ejector forend parts. That is the hard to find stuff. Buying or having a forend made is not an impossible task and now you have a choice of beavertail or splinter.:)

I've been at the stockmaking trade for 33 years, I'm 53, starting when I was 20. I've specialized in returning the classic American doubles back to factory specs. I'm a touch anal retentive about wood to metal fit, checkering style, size, pattern, ( I've figured out the Parker border, there's a name for it nice fellow told me the other evening by the name of Charlie Herzog, I've lost it already ), so I can make the forend, but I have a buttstock to make on this one as well.
Nuther question. This Parker does not have the concave border. Did Remington drop it? Or did Parker drop it sometime before the sale to Remington? Jerry I've specialized in the L.C. Smith guns mainly, especially the dreaded Hunter One Trigger and the ejectors, both absolute nightmares of engineering! A.E. Lard, God rest his soul, must have experimental with opiates or at least some funny mushrooms to dream that thing up and put it into production. I can make them work however, I've installed many of them from scratch, same with the ejectors. I think I've restocked 200 + L.C. Smith guns to date. PS. All numbers match on the Parker |
