Does anyone have a good product for addng patina to metal. I use vinegar but it takes a while to work and I would like to find something that is faster. Thanks, Tom

an apple or orange will work fast on a knife blade... charlie

I have used carpet rust remover with good results. I would say it etches the surface.
|
Tom, I used a 50/50 mix of apple cider vinegar and (please excuse for the more gentile reader) urine on the trigger guard bow I sent you the picture of last week.

They used something like that a 100 years ago for browning.

Find a boy aged 12-15 years of age and have him handle the gun. His sweaty hands will turn anything brown resulting in a nice patina. I know this for a fact.

Awwwwww Dean, you just brightened an otherwise gloomy day. That reply alone was worth the $40 cover charge!! And I thought it was only TEAM FOX that would ever remotely think of PEEING on a PARKER!!!!:bigbye:
Chugged a quart of iced tea, grabbed my VH and am heading out to the Hickory Shed to add a bit more Parker Patina. Hump-Day just turned a "wee bit" more bearable!!!!! :rotf: |
What next?????
You know....When you ask for help in this crowd you never know what you'll get.......... Cheers everybody and thanks for all the advise...even Dean. Tom
