Less than 100 days Harold. Got 4 new windows for the bedrooms at the cabin and will scout some places over the July 4th long weekend.

This does not help me focus on being productive......

Rich Anderson 06-17-2013 06:10 PM

Sure it does. Get your maps out and find some places that look good then go scout them out. After Aug 15th you can take the dog. Look your stuff over and see what needs repair or replaced and look through the web sites for th ultimate Grouse gun. I found mine at Hausmanns so that part is over with:whistle:

I'm trying to focus on fishing...not grouse hunting. Bad enough the way Tess looks at me when I head north without her to go fishing. As for the ultimate grouse gun, your as fickle as they come. Hell, I'd be happy with any of the guns you have spurned over the years.

A friend of mine guides on the AuSable and he locates cover while fishing. The latest Grouse gun is a Charles Osborne 20ga that weighs a scant 5lbs 7oz.
There is only one woman so I need multiple bird guns to carry me over and keep things interesting:rotf:

Still looking for a hussey, a HJ Hussey, Imperial that is. I always keeps ears open when wondering the AuSable. Haven't heard many birds in the past couple of years though.

Harold Lee Pickens 06-18-2013 12:30 PM

Jay,
My late uncle was HJ Hussey (Horace James), unfortunately not of the shotgun legacy( he was English however). He was a shooter, but I can only remember his Model 12.
I saw Rich's new 20 at Hausmans and it is the real deal.

Rich Anderson 06-18-2013 05:10 PM

I handeled a Hussey once, she had red hair:rotf: I just couldn't resist.
Harold I have ordered some RST 2 1/2 20ga 3/4oz 7's and some 8's just for the Boswell and Turner rd. I'm looking forward to bird season:)
