What does it mean?

A letter for a gun says it had a "full comb". Is that a Monte Carlo" stock?

It also says the gun's stock had a 4 1/2" grip. What does that mean? The length?

Thx for your help.

Ray, A full comb generally means the gun is equipped with a target style stock. We see alot of "Full Combs' on trap guns.

Also the 4 1/2" grip is the circumference around the grip area.

Dave, what is a target style stock? Not a Monte Carlo?

Wide through the whole stock and wide and rounded at the nose of the comb. Many single traps have this feature.

Not the best pictures but this is an example of a target or "full comb".

Is this a "full comb"?

Hard to tell from that angle, but it appears not to be.

I'm with Murph on this one.

I have three guns with full combs, a D,G and V. The V is the fullest of the three (I am tempted to say mine is bigger) :) The D and G are straight grips and the V a p/g. Here it is next to a standard p/g stocked V. All three are excellent trap guns for me and I shoot them well. The V pictured is so fat I have to really be sure to line up the double beads before calling pull because it is easy to have your eye a little off to the left of center. It would benefit from a bend giving it some cast off.
