Can you really go wrong for $475???...

I don't see how if the description about the bores is accurate. Pretty weak pictures, but the wood looks solid and those dents should be removed pretty easily. $475 for the gun, $30 to ship, and my FFL charges $25.

So here is what I was thinking...
Do the barrels ring? Wasn't waiting to ask, but a loose rib will lead to buyer's remorse.
Have the barrels been cut? With one barrel at full choke that would appear unlikely.
Are the barrels pitted? Maybe. The seller says they are shiny, but I've seen pitted bores shine.
Wood doesn't look to be cracked, but there is a chip at the toe. I'm hoping "honest wear" doesn't include any cracks.

Looks like a pretty good shooter for the price to me. That's the opinion of the rookie. Now let's hear from the experts regarding what I'm not seeing. I bought this after thinking about it for all of 30 seconds. :rotf:

Seems like a heck of a deal to me. Post some better pictures when you get it and tell us if everything checks out.

Worth the money for sure.

Will, what are your plans for this gun? Restore? If so, how far wil you go on restoration etc.?

You can part it out and still make some money. I think you did good

Dunno, Allen. I was looking for a set of 12ga 2 frame barrels to fit to my 16ga. I had seen a couple sell with pretty bad stock issues in the same price range over the last month. When I hit the Buy It Now button the only thing I cared about was the barrels for the above reason.

I stopped at the PO on the way home to buy a money order and mail it off. Hopefully the gun will arrive next week. Until then I won't have any idea on what it needs, although I'm not real big on restoring guns. I'd much rather have a faded original condition gun than a non-factory restored gun. I don't know the frame size, weight, or anything about it other than what was stated in the listing.

There's something about parting out a working Parker, LC, or Fox that would make me feel dirty.
