Need advice 16 gauge RST
 

I just got the first 2 boxes of RST reloads done and some of the cases have a bulge in it. Any advice.
I tried adjusting the final crimp height but did not seem to help.

I encountered that early on. The mec loader is somewhat fussy about the crimp. I was trying to approximate the short kit with a shim and or just adjusting the cam settings and it sonly kinda worked. The chedditte hulls arent much to push on so if its set wrong the case isnt stiff enough to resist the crimp pressure.The short kit made it easy, frustrating as that is to admit. If youre still having issues I would call mec and have them explain the adjustments, its pretty subtle. With a known load there is usually plenty of room, often too much.

So, if you are using a progressive I would check the final crimp die as it might be set too low. If you’re using a 600 jr, it’s going to be your can adjustment. You may have to play with pre crimp after. MEC has a good video on you tube.

Yup, too much pressure on the hull during final crimp. If you adjust the cam per MEC instructions you'll be fine, no more bulges.
