Need recipe for 410 reloads at or below 1200 psi

I am planning to reload 410 shells as soon as the Mec reloader that I've just purchased arrives.

I will be reloading 3 inch Federal hi brass game load shells using Cheddite CX2000 type 209 primers and Claybuster replacement wads. I'd like to keep the pressure at or just below 1200 psi.
Powder I'll use is Lil'Gun Hodgdon powder.

I think that from reading some reloading tables that a #9 powder busing will be suitable for the above reloading.
Does this sound ok?

:rotf::rotf::rotf:Allen, Since most .410 loads are in the 9000-10,000psi range, I think you might have meant to say 1200 FPS.

Why don't you invest in a BPI Advantages manual?

Thanks Edgar. I'll look into that manual

All powder companies have websites with loading data. 3" data is sparce, but they all have something. I use my normal competition 2 1/2" .410 loads for my 3" shells and fill the case with shot. The extra shot may raise the pressure a bit but not to an unreasonable level. My 2 1/2" load is 14 plus grains of 296 and an orange PC wad. A AA Winchester wad or a Remington wad is just as good.

If it were me I'd forget the BPI manuals. Just about everything in them is for the products they sell [ which is ok I suppose, but not really informative ] and second I believe they use computer generated formulas, not real testing.

I second what Bill said. Just get for free the powder companies reloading booklets. Look em up on the internet and give them a call or email and they'll send you one.
