New Here. Hello Guys/Gals

Hello, I am new here. Not exactly sure I belong here since I don't have a Parker.

I was pointed in this direction because I recently got myself a Winchester Model 1901 in 10g and I was looking for good smokless loads for hunting and target shooting.

I have been reading over lots of the stuff here hoping I will learn something about the 2 7/8" 10 gauge round.

My name is Joe and I live in South Louisiana. Love shooting old guns but admit I am not as familar with the old shotguns.

I do have a Winchester 1887 that I shoot brass shells and black powder out of.

I got the 1901 so I am not confined to just the black powder loads. Not much published info on what the 1901 can handle though.

Hi Joe, if you go to the Reloading and ammunition forum, there is a ton of info on loading for the 2 7/8 or short 10.
Welcome to the PGCA, great bunch of guys here.

Joe, you've come to the right place. Lots of good info can be found on this site. Hanging out on this site may even give you "Parkeritis" and you'll start shooting "Old Reliable".

Welcome, Joe. I like your name. It is the same as a CSA General Joseph Wheeler (Fightin' Joe). He was born just up the road from me, in Augusta, GA and fought campaigns in the county I live in.

Lots of info here, free for the takin'. Again, welcome.
