How many PGCA members are attending the Vegas show?

How many of you guys are attending the Vegas show? Are you taking your better half for a vacation? If all goes according to plan Susan and I will be there and enjoying some shows and stuff too. Looking forward to seeing some of you there. I have my radar on for certain Parker guns. We'll see what turns up.

Mike what are the dates? Funny, my wife just said, "I'm due for a Vegas fix, it's been a few years..."

Mike Koneski 12-30-2021 07:14 PM

January 20-23. Show is at the Westgate. Rooms are $90/night! Engravers show is there too. Probably getting tickets for Penn & Teller at The Rio and Piff the Magic Dragon at the Flamingo. Fun in the sun baby!!

Randy G Roberts 12-30-2021 07:43 PM

Me and the better half will be there. Looking forward to it.

DH 12 ga. 3 frame with 34" Damascus barrels and 2 7/8" chambers. Original condition matching the letter. PG,DT,SFE,SSBP. Adopted by a Hoosier family.

J Loew had several Parker's. 3 A Grade hammer 10's within 4 numbers of each other. To many more on his table to remember.

Saw a DHE 410, nice solid gun priced at 70K.

Upgraded 8 gauge for the Craig's.:)

I did not see that one.

David Noble 01-22-2022 04:26 PM

Randy, what auction house had the upgraded 8ga?

Craig Larter 01-22-2022 04:33 PM

The Vegas show is always overwhelming, thanks for your comments Randy.

Cowan's, Cincinnati.

Mike Koneski 01-26-2022 06:29 PM

Josh had a sexy 8 bore Lefever owned by Grover Cleveland. He also took ownership of the .410 DHE and it was on his table Saturday around mid-day. I know a guy who bought the 20g $65 Grade lifter. Nice gun that will be restocked to usable dimensions and the original stock will be kept as is so no "collectors" need to throw a brain-vein!! As is it's 13 1/2" LOP and a 4 1/2" DAH. That is for a giraffe with T-Rex arms!! It is 1 of 14 O grade lifters in 20g made by Parker. Really neat gun that'll show up on the podium hopefully sometime in 2022. Just sayin'.

Actually, there were a good many Parkers throughout the two event halls. Most were 10 or 12g but there were some others mixed in. An 8 or two, a .410. Didn't see any 28g but that doesn't mean there weren't any. There was a Try-Gun there I have my eye on. There was a two gun four barrel set in case. Two guns, one had 12 and 20g bbls, the second had .410 and 28g bbls. One full set in case and it was a Repro of course. If I'm not mistaken that price tag was about $200K. Randy would know the price. There were other Parker items like a few repro catalogs. Keith Kearcher had a sexy straight grip C grade stock, inletted, checkered/drop points and finished AND with shield and butt treatment and it's own trigger guard that someone snapped up from his booth. :) Same guy was also seen buying a Parker action, fore-end, trigger guard and stock (broken but had shield, butt plate and trigger guard). He had a good show!! Just sayin' for a friend. :rotf::bowdown:

Mike, was that ser. # 17448 ? the one that Austin Hogan found in upstate New York about 15 years ago? Austin described it as a "perfect rabbit gun", with such a severe drop that it will never shoot high. He published an article in Parker Pages featuring it but I can't seem to find it in the Digital Archive.

.

You would be correct sir. :)

Dean Romig 01-27-2022 10:28 AM

Eureka!!

I just found Austin’s article. It’s no wonder it was so hard to find…. Austin included NO by-line and never mentions anything about gauge or frame size in the title…

“A Tiny, Scarce and Interesting Parker Gun” on pg. 36 of Volume 16, Issue 1.
The first picture in the article illustrates the severe drop.
Great in-depth article… could we have expected less from Austin?

He also included a chart of serial numbers, probably the most complete compilation of twenty-gauge exposed-hammer guns I've seen.

.

Chuck Bishop 01-27-2022 10:43 AM

Mike, with your big head, that DAH should be no problem. Just sayin!

And when we are able to access Parker Pages via this site it will be so easy to go and read these articles that are brought up from time to time!

Reggie this is in the works literally as we speak. You may have noted that there has been a new heading added to the members only section by Mr. Dunkle in preparation of adding the archives. He's on it

I especially like that John, in the introductory page, has very succinctly spelled out the copyright laws that this Parker Pages Digital Archive is legally protected under.

After many emails and phone discussions this is finally coming together!!

Many kudos to John for putting the necessary skills into adding the archives to the website.

Mike I am certain the 2 gun set you are speaking of is the J Cliff Green BHE's that CSM has had for sale for some time. As you said a 2 gun set with 4 24" barrels. I believe the price tag was $249,900 or "make an offer".
