XU Grade?
Can't get any feedback on my posts in other forums for my 1878. Not even sure what the model is. Thinking GH but that's only from comparing photos. Any help would be great. I posted this in the new comers forum and the general forum with pics and have no replies.
Parker Bros Pat'd Nov 13 1866 "MAR23 1875 Ser# 13553 (1878) Barrel- PLAIN TWIST (30") Grade- XU Frame- 2 (10,12) Weight- 5535? Overall Length- 46 1/2" After comparing it to my 870 I'm pretty sure it's a 12 gauge but I'm still not sure what I have here. |
You are now on the right thread. You have a parker lifter gun Your pictures are to small to be of any use. You need to remove the barrels and photograph the water table and the barrel flats. that will help with identifaction. The engraveing varries considerable on old parkers even with guns of the same grade. I have a 10ga with nicer engraveing than it should have for an O grade. Have patient, somebody with more experience than I will chime in.Its a little early for a thursday. Some people are at work.

Thanks Rick
Bill Zachow hit the nail on the head- thats a very small gun. All kidding aside- get us some good pics and we can opine. It looks like a nice old gun. |

I don't know if this will help or not, most times the picture is to big to upload but this video may help. If you make it bigger rather than smaller? This link is found at the very bottom of the FAQ page off our main web welcome page.
Shows how to get a picture that is to large to upload resized so it will. |
The dimensions of your picture are 120x80 pixels it should be 10 times that. Right click the picture and hit edit then change the size.
