32" BHE Repro at the Gun Show Today

Yup, that's what it was. A 32" BHE Repro is what it was. Don't worry, a friend bought it before I could get to it. It was about the nicest 12 gauge BHE I've ever seen, double triggers, straight grip, 14 5/8" to the leather covered pad, splinter forend. I can't say too much more about it, except that I would like to own it. I do have some more details, but I'll wait until our friend, Mr. Skeuse comments about the gun, or at least the barrels. If you've ever handled a 32" Parker that weighs about 7 1/4 pounds, you know what this gun feels like.

Bill, could that gun be the same gun that Chadick sold and we discussed back in 2010?

Now that sounds very special....get some pictures if possible. I have been told about 30" 12ga. barrels by John Allen of Game Fair, he has a set he told about. SXS ohio

I didn't read the entire thread from 2010, but I did comment that the 32" gun lived right up the road from me. At that time, I hadn't seen it, but now I have. It is the same gun and it looks "Skeuse" to me all over. It has passed through some hands since 2010, but I know them all. Richard Skeuse should comment momentarily. This is probably the gun that Herschel had, but I don't have his old ads any more. Maybe a DGJ ad will tell the tale. Anyone else have any ideas?

Greg Baehman 10-06-2013 02:26 PM

When you say "it looks 'Skeuse' to me all over" Bill, are you saying that these 32" barrels have the customarily seen Parker Reproduction barrel stampings on them?

Greg Baehman 06-01-2014 04:49 PM

There are a few of us that would like to hear the rest of the story.

Bill Murphy 06-01-2014 07:24 PM

Sorry for not answering your question, Greg. I must have missed it. Yup, it's right as rain and Mr. Skeuse may have a comment. Does anyone have the old Herschel Chaddick ad where it was sold way back?

32" Reproductions barrels

Sorry Fellows unless I see a picture I can't comment on them, but I love the "Skeuse all over them" comment. What's that mean?

Bill Murphy 06-02-2014 05:53 PM

Richard, it means that the gun look very original with no clues that it is a made up gun. You all must have made at least one 32" gun. I am on the hunt.

Greg Baehman 06-02-2014 06:41 PM

Something doesn't add up here, Bill. You say they are Parker Reproduction barrels and Kenny says he checked into them when Chadick had the gun for sale and they were non-Repro barrels.

Maybe you can go over to your neighbor's place with a bottle of wine, some good old cheese and a digital camera, explain to him what's up, take some good macro photos and post them up for Mr. Skeuse and the rest of us to see. Mr. Skeuse can then comment on them and clear things up regarding these barrels . . . it might even lead to a wonderful Parker Pages article. Let's get on it, eh? :corn:
