Parker Identification
I have had several parkers over the years, but now have acquired a butt stock that I am trying to identify. I has what I presume to be a serial number under the inletting for the trigger guard. #240xxx and below that 2 B. Ihas very good wood, the traditiona dog buttplate and parker pistol grip cap.
The original safety stock pieces are in place and it has a police shaped shield about 5-6" above toe. note this appears to be gold colored. My thought is that there is someone out there who wants to restore a good gun without replacing it with new wood. Any thoughts on identity. 3240xxx and below tha a #2 space space B |
John, what's the entire S/N? I'll tell you what the gauge was. The #2 in the channel means it was a Grade 2 (GH). We can guess the frame size it would fit if we knew the width of the stock head. Don't know what the B would stand for.

240570 so it should be a remington? I thought the 2 might be frame size?
|
Also it is 15/8 across flat and 1 15/16 top to bottom.
|
It was a 12 ga. GHE. Remington owned Parker Bros. This stock was made in 1937 so it probably was made in Meriden, CT.
|
It could very well have been from a 12ga. 1/2 frame gun. S/N 240571 is a known GHE 1/2 frame. The width matches, not sure about the height. Maybe someone knows what the height should be.

Hi John:
That B is a bit of a mystery to me as well. Is there any chance that it could be a capital R ? May we see a picture ? |
An R would indicate Replacement I believe.
