Very nice indeed. I want one.

Mark Brady 08-19-2013 02:24 PM

I own two D grade guns, a 12 gauge trap gun with 32" full and full tubes (Titanic Steel) and an older 10 gauge with fine Damascus 32" barrels. A nice 12 gauge Damascus D grade gun would be a nice addition to the flock. Sorry if I sound greedy but I have a love affair with side by sides and find it hard to pass one up. I've been breaking 46 - 50 clays out of 50 with the trap gun in the year I've owned it and have semi retired my newer trap guns for the present.

I have sent a PM to our leader, Ed Morgan, asking for a PGCA letter to be added to this thread. I can't wait to see who originally ordered this great gun.

Neil Richardson 08-19-2013 07:52 PM

I have a question about Canadian PGCA members. If the winning ticket is held by a Canadian PGCA member will we be able to claim the gun (assuming we pay all the export/import fees)?

thanks,

Neil

Bill,
I have no way to scan it at home but can tell you it shipped to a MR. T.B. Davis of Portland Maine on July 15th, 1882. It was patterned to shoot 180 pellets of #8 shot in a 24" circle at 40 yards with both barrels.

Dean Romig 08-19-2013 11:54 PM

Larry, can you double check the date of manufacture for this year's raffle gun... a DH on a 2 frame.

Bill Murphy 08-20-2013 01:49 PM

Too bad, Larry. T.B. Davis was not a famous trapshooter or anything like that. T.B. Davis was a gun and sporting goods dealer who sold Parkers. At least we have some information to forward to ticket buyers.

Thanks for catching that Dean. The info I provided is for next years raffle gun. It's a D grade top action hammer gun that someone will be very happy to own. I think the PGCA letter for this year is currently with the gun.

Mr Morgan,

When and where is the winning raffle ticket being drawn ?

Thanks for your time.

Kind regards,

Jeff B.

Robin Lewis 09-23-2013 11:49 PM

It is usually drawn at the PGCA banquet and I assume that will be the case next Friday evening.

Jeff Bonadurer 09-28-2013 11:48 PM

who's name was drawn ?

Wasn't able to attend. Who won the raffle gun ?

ED J, MORGAN 09-29-2013 08:19 AM

We have a winner!

The winner of the raffle gun is Tim Hoffman from Wisconsin.

Dean Romig 09-29-2013 06:33 PM

Ed did a wonderful job of selling raffle gun tickets which is our best (and best run) fundraiser every year. Thanks for ALL you do Ed!!

Ed was quick to point out at the Annual Meeting Banquet that his lovely wife was equally responsible for the success of the raffle gun program, so "Thank you too Elizabeth!!"

I would like to thank everyone at the Parker Gun Collectors Association who played a part in making this raffle possible. The gun is absolutely beautiful. I will enjoy learning about Parkers. A special thanks to Ed and Elizabeth Morgan for making the pick up of the gun so easy.
Thanks again
Tim Hoffman

Tim,

Thank you for supporting the PGCA's most important fund-raising effort. We hope you enjoy your "new" Parker! It is a superb example of American craftsmanship of a century ago.

You might like to be a PGCA Member and enjoy all the benefits of membership... it is well worth the $40 annually.
