This is a new venue for the PGCA and we will have display tables set-up for the show weekend. This is a beautiful new facility located in the heart of "Downtown" Hartford. We are excited about being able to bring The Parker Gun Collectors Assoc. to this great show.

Please stop in and say hello...

Dean Romig 12-03-2012 04:50 PM

How many volunteers would you like to have man the booth Dave?

Dave Suponski 12-03-2012 04:58 PM

Dean, Larry and I have commited for the weekend. Egger said he would do a day or 2. I am sure we could use a couple more volunteers.

edgarspencer 12-04-2012 07:13 PM

:knowbetter: Can one get their name legally changed in 6 weeks?

Dave Suponski 12-04-2012 07:30 PM

I think you can do it sooner than that....:rotf: What name would you have Kristy put on your name badge?....

Dean Romig 12-04-2012 09:51 PM

How 'bout Teggar?

George M. Purtill 12-05-2012 07:09 AM

David
I can help for a day.
Do you need guns to display?

Tom Brown 12-05-2012 07:38 AM

Stamford show?

Will the Stamford show still be held with the PGCA in attendance?

Tom,
Yes it will, see this thread. http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthread.php?t=8807

edgarspencer 12-05-2012 09:14 AM

Dave, I'm busy the day George works the table. Not sure which day that is, but I know I have something going on. And If I don't, I'll make something up.

Ya know Dean, I almost like that, and not because you came up with it either.

Dave Suponski 12-05-2012 12:04 PM

George, We would be more than happy to have you. I am sure we could use some guns to display. Folks are getting tired of seeing our old stuff. I just hope that you and Egger can learn to get along.....:corn:

edgarspencer 12-05-2012 12:20 PM

Speak for yourself Stosh. I never get tired of looking at Dean's stuff. As for George, He's ok. I'll just take a handfull of Ativan, sit there and smile.

Dean Romig 12-05-2012 12:49 PM

You guys kill me.... :biglaugh:

Dave Suponski 12-05-2012 03:45 PM

It's not Deans "Stuff" I get tired of looking at it's D... Oh never mind..

allen newell 12-06-2012 07:57 AM

Dave
If you still need help, I believe I can make it Friday or Saturdy whichever works for you.

Dave Suponski 12-06-2012 01:49 PM

Allen , I never turn down volunteers! Friday would be great. Thanks for your help and I look forward to meeting you.

allen newell 12-06-2012 01:55 PM

Dave, I'll post Friday on my calendar for 2013. Of course, this all assumes we don't all fall off the cliff between now and then!

See you in Hartford at the show. I'm happy to bring along my grandfather's little 16 VH - that I had DelGrego do a complete restoration about 4 years ago.

Rgds, Allen:bigbye:

Dave Suponski 12-06-2012 02:03 PM

Allen, That would be great. Our booth is going to be right next to The Ruff Grouse Society's booth so the PGCA theme will be upland guns.

John Dunkle 12-12-2012 05:06 PM

I'll take a look see at the dates with Jen, as her folks live "just down the road a'piece".. How many Parkers do you guys need? I might be able to assist with one - or two - or so....?

Anyone bringing a yellow towel for photos???

;)

John

Dave Suponski 12-12-2012 05:12 PM

JD, It would be great to have you. A couple of guns would be great. Will these be guns you are returning to their owners?.....

John Dunkle 12-12-2012 05:13 PM

If they bring the cash - I'll return them.. I was thinking about "returning" Danny's .410.. How much cash are you bringing???

;)

John

George M. Purtill 12-12-2012 05:15 PM

Good point Dave
I think it is time that all those Parkers were returned to Connecticut.
You, me , Larry and Teggar can safeguard them.

Dean Romig 12-12-2012 05:28 PM

I might be able to find an "upland gun" or two somewhere around the house... it it wouldn't be too boring

I seem to have a loose forend that turned up recently... from a small bore DH I believe.

Fortunately - that gun was returned to its rightful owner... I'll let him know that you "discovered" another matching forend, however....

:rotf:

John D.

John Dunkle 12-12-2012 05:57 PM

In all seriousness - I'm still trying to figure out if I can attend. BUT - if we all can make it, can we coordinate offline what we are bringing for Parkers?? It wouldn't make sense if all of us showed up with our AAHEs? It would be nice if we could round out gauges and grades for the display...

Just a thought...

John

Now that's funny!

allen newell 12-12-2012 08:02 PM

I'll be there Friday and plan to bring a VH 16 grouse/woodcock double.

allen newell 12-12-2012 08:29 PM

Grandfather's doublegun completely restored by DelGrego's about 5 years ago. Believe me it needed it!

Dean Romig 12-12-2012 10:10 PM

I can bring whatever might fill a void in small bore upland guns...(within reason).

Keith Bedard 02-03-2013 10:16 AM

I wanted to thank you guys for coming to the show. Kristie works very hard on this show and she is always looking for new draws. I know this might not be the best place to showcase these fine guns but it is very important to her and I to have CT.gun heritage proudly represented. Perhaps some of the others will follow your lead in the future. It would be a wonderful sight to see all the CT based companies represented. I think too many people who may walk through the show have no idea how big CT was in gun manufacture even with the old Colt building right next door to the Convention center. This show is in the heart of the gun valley and people should know this and be proud of it!

Keith Bedard 02-12-2013 06:22 PM

The show is coming soon and look forward to meeting some fellow members this weekend!
The threat of snow is dwindling as I type... cross your fingers

George M. Purtill 02-12-2013 06:32 PM

I'll be there!!
This will be a good departure from looking at all this white stuff.
Refresh everyone's recollection with times, hours and prices.
Thanks Keith
We look forward to seeing you!

Keith Bedard 02-12-2013 06:36 PM

Thanks George

edgarspencer 02-12-2013 08:20 PM

Because of the blizzard, and the length of time it took Stratford to get Mr. Adoptable plowed out, he has informed me that he won't be able to get to Hartford for the set-up on Friday. Consequently, the PCGA booth will only be set up Saturday and Sunday. Personally, I think he just couldn't face dealing with George for three days.

Keith Bedard 02-12-2013 09:01 PM

I hope you guys can work out the details as it does not look good to open a show with an empty booth. I will send someone to pick up whatever you nned so at least the booth is marked and not sitting empty. Please let me know

A few pictutes of set up at the show. It was our first year displaying at this particular venue. We were well recieved and the show attendees kept us very busy all three days. Thank you to George and Edger for stepping up and manning the both on Friday as Larry and I were playing catch-up at our respective businesses following the nasty storm.

Dean Romig 02-17-2013 10:03 PM

Nice pair od DH Parkers. I haven't seen them before and suspect they are Georges, correct?

A couple more

Dave Suponski 02-18-2013 12:08 PM

I would like to apologize for omitting Allen Newell in my last post. Allen also was present on Friday helping Edgar and Mr. Purtill manning the booth. Thank You Allen for giving of your time to the PGCA.
