Thanks for the pictures.
I like #11 and 7. #9 aint to shabby either. And #12 has got some very pretty scratching on her. Great photos. |
Thanks Mike! I was a great night and those A grades were wonderful!
|
i could not choose the best one...all were super... charlie
|
I did not vote as I did not think it was fair to the guns to pick a favorite.
|
I nominate Mike as the official PGCA photographer. Great pictures Mike!
|
I gotta go for all the hammer guns and the straight grip 20. Wow! Great job Mike. Thanks.
|
Mike ,Thank you for posting for us Guys that couldn't attend ! Great Pictures !! By the way ,Those A Grades are spectacular ! Russ
|
#9 gets my vote. A straight stock and its a 20! That would be in the Grouse woods with Daisy and me in a heartbeat.
|
My horrid attorney friend asked if there were any spectacular guns at the Fall Southern. He was expecting me to say some great Purdy's or Holland and Holland's etc. I told him the gun that held my attention was the A grade 20 gauge lifter Parker, #5 above.

I have no desire to buy an English gun, if it comes out of my Parker allowance
|
I just could not pick an overall favorite gun. Each one had its own winning qualities.
As far as engraving goes, in the hammerless guns I went for the #1 gun with the deep relief. Just commands your appreciation. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8476/8...5d220e02_c.jpg For the hammer guns I chose #7 for its rectangular and oval panels for the game scenes, and the geometric accents. Kind of an engraving sampler. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8055/8...b1d7cee5_c.jpg |
Harry, you could have told him that you must have had the best guns since you sold all but one.
|
I agree with Bill, the nicest gun is one that's for sale, and that I can afford! Harry, I took the DH 10ga out for a spin on the five stand today with some 1 1/4oz RST loads. Shoots like a dream! Somebody take me Duck hunting!

Thanks for the pictures Mike! All of the guns are spectacular. I just love those hammer guns, but my favorite has got to be #1. The heavy relief carving is beautiful.
Now I know what I missed. Looks like great times were had by all. |
I really enjoyed seeing Bill Murphy's 2 barrel C Grade made famous by an earlier thread on this forum. People say the C grade is not much different from a D, but this one was a few steps up at least.

This years annual meeting was as good as it gets! I throughly enjoyed the banquet and the Fall SxS shooting venue. Many thanks to all that made both the Parker Annual Meeting and the Southern Side X Side Fall Classic possible for all to enjoy. I am already looking forward to next years event and returning to Georgetown SC where we can enjoy one of the finest sporting clays courses in the country, great local restaurants and top notch motels to accomadate all who attend. For those that missed this years event it's not too early to start making plans for this great event in 2013.

Well said Mr. Marson

I am all for returning to Georgetown next year, particularly if it does not conflict with grouse season and more of us can attend.

I heard they were going to move it up a month to the end of September. IF this happens I'd consider going but NOT the end of October.
In the Upper Pennisula there were no crowds, lots of birds, adult beverages and NO SANDY:) |
Mr. Anderson,
In another post. I believe the one for fall southern results, Rick Hemingway stated that the Fall Southern is planned for September 27 to 29th 2013. It would be nice to see ya there next year. As well as some of our other friends who were unable to make it this year. :) |

We did not leave Georgetown hungry. David and Tom had a delicious lowcountry spread on Friday night and Rick Hemingway had a fish fry on Saturday. More than a week out, I am still recovering. :)

Friday evening Rick had a feast for the exhibitors. I shucked and scarfed down more than two dozen oysters while they grilled duck breast and steaks. I had to run to rerag for the PGCA dinner and had a wonderful dinner waiting for me.
