PGCA North-South shoot off

The North-South or Blue -Gray shoot-off will be Sun Oct 27th at 10 AM!!! When you register for the Parker Champion Shoot you will be asked if you are sympathetic to the Blue or Gray. The top five shooters in each will shoot as a team against the other for the honor of their region. The high shooter on the low score team may challenge the high shooter of the winning team to a one on one shutoff,if so desired. Us Southern boys have been practicing!!

Some folks need practice and some were born ready!;)

David Dwyer 10-11-2012 03:13 PM

Larry
I agree!! How long have you been practicing!!!:rotf:

Dean Romig 10-11-2012 04:00 PM

I'm sympathetic to the South (because underdogs need sympathy :violin: ) but I'll be shootin' for the North. :smiley7:

David Dwyer 10-11-2012 04:09 PM

better start practicin!!! These Jonnny Rebs are looking to kick some Yankee #$%:bigbye:

Chuck Bishop 10-11-2012 04:23 PM

There may not be many Yankees there if it's held on Sunday at 10am. It's a long way from SC to Pa. Sunday's a travel day, the wife has to earn some money on Monday:shock:

I also don't understand the Events Schedule. It talks about a Parker/Smith challenge and a Parker/Smith Trap challenge. What's that all about?

that should help the north :rotf: PS: dave, the shoot is on for jan. 1st

David Dwyer 10-12-2012 09:24 AM

I don't know anything about the Parker/Smith challenge or the Trap challenge.
Tom Carter was involved in those events so hopefully he will respond. The "main event"for the Fall Southern SXS,not the Parker shoot, is a 150 target shoot-75 on Sat and 75 on a different course on Sunday. We had to schedule the Blue-Gray for Sun AM as the teams are selected by your score on the 75 bird course shot Sat. We will not have the scores and teams until Sun AM. I can move it earlier if that would help?

Events

Rick Hemmingway established the Parker/Smith events. I'm not sure how they are going to take place. Knowing Rick I'm sure it will be fun and challenging. Cheers, Tom

charlie cleveland 10-12-2012 11:06 AM

hope you fellows have a great shoot if i could be there i guess i d have to be a johney reb too...charlie

David Dwyer 10-12-2012 01:53 PM

Tom Carter & I met with Rick this morning and Tom will post the details. If you want a golf cart I would suggest you call Backwoods,843-546-1466 or email them,r1466@sccoast.net , and reserve one. The shooting actually starts Thursday at Noon as They are allowing the Friday events to be shot Thursday afternoon also. Friday there are:Gage specific contest for 10ga thru 410 separate hammer and hammerless. Parker -Smith Qualifing 5 stand, Parker-Smith qualifying trap. WHEW-that is a lot of shooting!!!
David

calvin humburg 10-13-2012 08:40 AM

Hummm, I think I would shoot for the south on the north team. :)

David Dwyer 10-13-2012 11:37 AM

Calvin
That would work!!! The TOP GUN shootoff will be fun. I am cheering for Larry Fry as top Yankee.
David

Dave,
I need to get out my Atlas to see if Dave Fjelline resides in Northern or Southern California.;)

David Dwyer 10-15-2012 01:03 PM

I appreciate your concern for the South. I already checked with Dave and he has declared his allegiance to the Glorious South along: with Truitt, Brant, Carter etc etc. Better start practicing!!! Dave's allegiance had absolutely nothing to do with my buying a gun from him and having him restock another gun.:whistle:
David

PS-I shot with Josh this weekend. He did pretty well-you might want to recruit him!

Tom Carter 10-15-2012 01:53 PM

Josh

Josh shoots with the rest of the Southern Gentlemen. Tom

I need to see if it's too late to cancel my reservation!:cuss:

Chuck Bishop 10-15-2012 02:51 PM

Can you say conspiracy:nono:

Rich Anderson 10-15-2012 07:22 PM

I'd shoot for the South but I WILL be shooting for the Grouse or at least at the Grouse:rotf:

edgarspencer 10-15-2012 07:32 PM

..............and I thought my ex-wife had trouble letting go. She's not even from the south either.

David Dwyer 10-15-2012 07:45 PM

Rich
Your choice. I will miss you happy smiling face.
David

Rich Anderson 10-15-2012 09:25 PM

David just think how much more enjoyable it will be to see me in April at the Southern:rotf:

Edgar, there are things that are sacred and things that arn't. Grouse hunting is sacred, shooting flying disks during the sacred time is unthinkable.

edgarspencer 10-15-2012 10:01 PM

I couldn't agree more Rich. What I was referring to was that Yankee/Rebel thing.

Rich Anderson 10-15-2012 10:05 PM

Taking a political stand on North VS South might get you banned:rotf: I just couldn't resist:whistle:

Chuck Bishop 10-16-2012 09:24 AM

For the Parker/Smith trap challenge or just to practice at trap, I'll have my 32" SC trap gun available for anyone that want's to use it. Just ask me for permission.

Josh Loewensteiner 10-16-2012 06:48 PM

Guys-

I had the pleasure of shooting the course with David and Tom earlier this weekend. It's a great course. Not impossible, but pretty tough. The opportunity for shooting at this years annual meeting is incredible. I cant wait!

David also shared with me the banquet menu. Those that are attending are in for a treat!
