Gunsmith in Cleveland, Ohio
I've just acquired a 12 Guage Parker #216067. It's a 1926 DN (Grade 3) gun. I'd like to take it to a Parker knowledgable gunsmith. Anybody have a recommendation in the Cleveland, Ohio area?
If anyone would like to see pictures of the gun, I can post them. Alex Dade Bay Village, OH |
Hello, And I would like to see pictures.
I'll post pictures in the morning. Do you know an appropriate gunsmith in Northern Ohio or Western Pennsylvania?
Book has it as a DH w/ ejectors (DHE) 12 ga. capped pistol grip and 32"Titanic steel barrels. Do you feel the gun has has a problem or you just want it cleaned ?
DH...read the grade wrong (I'm just learning about Parkers). It has ejectors, but it's not marked DHE. Nice shape I think. Hasn't been fired in many years. I' just like to have it checked out.
Welcome Alex, your in for a fun ride.:bigbye:
Thanks, Paul. As a boy, my uncle in Kentucky used to take me bird hunting and allowed me to use his Parker. He always spoke of it reverently, and I've always wanted one. The gun I now have belonged to my father-in-law who was an avid trap shooter and hunter.
Both my daughters were born in San Antonio when I was stationed there in the Air Force. Nice town. |
It's raining to beat the band here now. I'm getting off work at 8:00 am then have to fix my tractor for cutting grass tomorrow. Man I should have done it yesterday. Thats what I get for cleaning my parkers before my work was done.:knowbetter::knowbetter::knowbetter:
So tell me about this rain over, an inch?
Per the rain gauge at work, 4.7 in from 9:00 pm to 6:30 am
Wow, I'd trade a Parker for that.
Hang in there Alex. Someone will post up soon with a recommendation for a Cleveland area double-gunsmith.
Come and get it. Anything above a VH.:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:
The rain should be good for the doves, Iknow the bats are going to town on the bugs that have been flushed out by the rain.
This is a very pleasant conversation, guys, but does anybody know a good Parker gunsmith in Northern Ohio or Western Pennsylvania?
Alex, sorry about that. I' sure you will have an answer very soon.
No problem, Paul....I'm just so excited about the gun, and anxious to get it ready to shoot.

Alex, Nice gun
Are them Rem repair codes showing guys? Craig |
Alex, For routine work such as a "gun check" I go to Ken Carey at Whitetail Gunsmith (419-994-4919) in Loudonville. For any serious Parker work, I go to the DelGregos in Ilion, NY or Brad Bachelder in Grand Rapids, MI.
Thanks for the recommendations! I've been looking at the PGCA web site and think I've figured out the repair codes - AMM3:
A - March MM - 1943 3 - Service Section Received I get the March 1943 part but what's "Service Section Received"? |
Alex, i knew that someone would chime in soon. We have a great time on this site, but we sometimes are easly distract...........Oohhh look at the purdy pictures........
Realy nice gun!!! Enjoy it.:shock::shock: |
Just for fun, do you have the contact information for the other two (Ilion and Grand Rapids)?

Thanks -- and I found the Bachelder site too.
Cool. Now I must go & fix my tractor, before I get disctacted again.
Tractor? I have a John Deer 2320. Funny how common interests go together
Honestly, why do you think it needs checked out? That is a nice gun!
That rib matting is interesting could I see a picture of the rib around the name stamp. |
"Nice" is an understatement!!
This gus hasn't been fired for over 25 years - just thought it would be a good idea. I'm just cautious with things that include explosions
I'll say WOW now, after next pic's uploaded showing full gun.

OK -- as requested -- full length view (well, almost), the stamp part of the rib, and one of where the safety used to be -- removed somewhere along the line, probably by a skeet shooter.
You guys seem pretty excited about this gun-- is there something unusual here?
Ok I;m back, the tractor is fixed. Mine's a JD 2240. I use it to cut grass for Parker and hunting money. With the lack of rain this year my extra money is hard to come by.
Alex, Looks to be a wonderful gun! Congrarulations! How long are the barrels? I think if I were you I would order a PGCA research letter on the gun.
Alex, we all get excited about a new member and another Parker. Yours is beautiful.
Tell your wife that,if you hang around long enough that she ain't seen nothing yet. My wife has been rolling her eyes so long it sounds tike fingernails on a chalk board. I can here it from the dove field.:biglaugh: PS. You should join PGCA and get a letter about your gun. It's actualy cheaper to join and get the letter than just getting a letter alone. |
Barrels are 32" -- I think I'm going to take your advice and get a letter about the gun. I've wanted a Parker all my life -- boy am I excited!
And I just talked to the eye roller -- it's been more like 40 years since her father shot this gun.
Alex,What a great trap gun! Please join the PGCA and the letter will only cost you $40.00 otherwise a letter is $100.00 This savings along with all the other benefits of membership is well worth the cost. And don't forget you will recieve four issues of Parker Pages our quarterly journal. This is a first rate publication.
