Big Boys 12ga

15 Attachment(s)
This 12ga with 30 inch bbls on a 2 frame has to be the biggest 2 frame I've ever seen. The unstruck wt is 4-4 and the gun wts 9 lbs. The stock has a fat grip for big hands and it feel like a 3 frame. The chokes are cyl/cyl. She also has 3 inch chambers.

Bill Murphy 07-26-2012 07:03 PM

My friend, I hope you didn't let that one get away.

Angel Cruz 07-26-2012 07:09 PM

She's sitting in the safe right now. Or standing anyway...

Bill Murphy 07-26-2012 07:59 PM

Wonderful. Put me on the list.

Angel Cruz 07-26-2012 08:09 PM

Duly noted, Murph!! Unless you have a 16ga hammer gun we can treade:)

Paul Stafford 07-26-2012 08:27 PM

Angel, is that the one we were both trying to get?? It's beautiful!

Angel Cruz 07-26-2012 08:28 PM

Thanks Paul!! On GB?? Could be!!

Paul Stafford 07-26-2012 08:33 PM

It is beautiful!!, Keep me in mind if she ignores you and your forced to evict her from your home. Thanks for sharing!!!

Very nice gun Angel. I love the scalloped engraving on top of the lever.

Angel Cruz 07-28-2012 12:13 PM

Thanks Charlie, Brian.I think the engraving on the top lever is a nice touch.
Brian you made me look at the top lever and I just noticed that the lever is only knurled(right word I hope) on the left side and the other side is smooth. I wonder if a gun for a left handed person has the knurled part on the right side?? Funny thing the things people see for the first time.

Dave Suponski 07-28-2012 12:17 PM

Angel, I just checked 6 guns and they are all knurled on the left side only.

Angel Cruz 07-28-2012 12:32 PM

Mine too. Are there any that have it on the right side??

Angel Cruz 07-29-2012 10:16 AM

I took her out to the sporting clays and I came away thinking why would anyone need such a massive quail gun? I decided to use Polywad's Vintagers 2 inch shells loaded with 2-1/4 dram eq. and 24 grams of 7-1/2 shot.
After the first shot I stopped to check the gun out because the sound was so muffled I thought I blew a bbl. I took the second shot and I had to stop again. I don't know if it was the 2 inch shell or the mass on the gun but I never heard a gun soud like that. And of course recoil was almost none. I thought I was shooting a .410. Next time I'm gonna try the 2-1/2 inch shells.

Brian Dudley 07-30-2012 02:17 PM

The knurling (or metal checkering) would always be on the left side since that is the side you have to push on to open the gun. The lever pushes the same way regardless of if you are right or left handed.

Angel Cruz 07-30-2012 02:34 PM

YOU'RE RIGHT...:)

Destry L. Hoffard 08-01-2012 06:28 PM

I've got a big heavy 10 gauge hammer gun and with the light RST loads it sounds that way too. Like shooting a .410 really gets your attention it's so quiet.

I have read warnings against shooting 2" shells in guns chambered for longer shells. The warning states that there is a distinct possibility of the wads "tipping" as a result of the extra chamber length and we all know what happens when a wad tips...

Angel Cruz 08-02-2012 08:22 AM

That stinks!!! It was like shooting a 9 pound .410....

calvin humburg 08-12-2012 07:00 AM

That is one nice gun Angel.

Dean, I don't understand wad tipping. You must be talking about the under shot wad does it tip let the gas buy and stay in the barrel? How does it tip with pressure holding it to the bottom of the shot? Ask dumb questions why not. ch

Larry Frey 08-12-2012 07:39 AM

Calvin I don't think that's a dumb question at all. I sometimes use Chamber Mates and shoot 20 gage shells from my 12 gage. From what I read there is some loss of presser/velocity but the wad should expand and do it's job. If there is a problem with doing this I for one would be very interested.

Angel Cruz 08-12-2012 08:16 AM

I was thinking he meant the wad actually tipping and causing a bulge??? I think that's what he was warning about with saying all that. I think. But he will let us know. BTW, thanks Calvin. I think you would love the beast.

Richard Flanders 08-12-2012 08:51 AM

What a beauty Angel! I would have joined the fray had I been paying attention. Logging too much drill core lately for that I guess.

Angel Cruz 08-12-2012 09:04 AM

Thanks Rich, you keep drilling and logging:rotf:
BTW, if you got a 16ga hammer gun we can talk!!

Gary Carmichael Sr 08-16-2012 07:35 AM

Nice gun Angel! and a really heavy set of barrels, I bet the gun swings nicely, congrats ,a good find! Gary

Angel Cruz 08-16-2012 07:49 AM

Thanks Gary. Once I get them moving there is no problem with the follow thru. I would love to have met the man that needed such a Parker. I know of 10-ners that weight less than that.

Just repeating what I've read and thought I'd pass it along as a possible safety concern.
