New owner looking for info
4 Attachment(s)
Hello, I can't believe I found this site on Parker guns. I have purchased this Parker and am loking for some info about it. I hope someone can guide me in the right direction to lear more about what I have. The serial # 111311 and they all match. It has a gold sheild on the stock. I was told that sadly someone tried to convert it into a lamp?, yes a lamp. They drilled a hole in the steel for a wire. The "only" up side is what I paid for it. Is ther any thing I can do to help make this a good looking specimen for display. It does need a good cleaning. Please let me know if you can help. Thanks for your time!!!
Sincerely, VJ Enright |
Lamp!? Post some pics if you can. I hope they didn't drill the bbls. Stick around as you'll get all the help you need here. Welcome to the forum. We love stories like this! someone will use the ser # to tell you what you have.

A Lamp ? WOW ,Sorry the serial # is not in the serialization book . Welcome aboard ! Russ

V.J.,
Please take some pictures. Overall and close up pictures would help us help you. Do you know how to take the Parker apart? If so take pictures of what is writen on the bottom of the barrels as well as the what is writen on the receiver so we can read it. This will help even more. Take a picture where they drilled the hole as well as what is writen on top of the rib between the barrels. A&F had gun lamps in their NY display room. Kindest, Harry |
We have a chandelier in the dining room of our gun club made from a hammergun. Somewhat kitschy IMHO but luckily it appears to be a Scott and not a Parker...

Pikers. :) The gen-u-ine article. We get the good Ducks Unlimited banquet stuff out here.
|
Nothing there says Parker to me . . .
|
No, its a Winchester and Winchester stuff is highly collectible....I'm holding out for at least $1000. See, good things happen when you go to a DU banquet and drink too much with your buddies. I figure the sky is the limit on all those Redlin prints, they'll be hot next and Kaas will be begging me for prints for his clubhouse.

Mr. Enright, I have been searching for a Parker gun lamp that I passed up at a show probably thirty years ago. What gauge is your lamp-gun? Since it's not really a gun, maybe I'm within PGCA forum the rules to say I would buy your gun if it's the same one I saw years ago.

1902
Your serial number indicates your gun was built in 1902. Look forward to seeing some pictures.

Looks like a G in what WAS not to bad of shape maybe junk barrels and owner did not want it shot, OH well.

A small dent is no reason to do what was done to that gun .Are the barrels badly pitted ?or thin. Yes I would say it would make a display but never a shooting double.
|
Breech of the barrels are stamped +. And Damascus Barrels are 3 lbs 14 on a 3 Frame. Both firing pins are intact. Hmmm.

Hell! Display piece? That thing can be fixed as long as the barrels are sound. It wouldn't take much to weld that hole in the breech ball up and re engrave it. 3 frame. Is it a 10ga? What a great project gun!!
