Lapeer - Augest 11th Shoot
Our summer shoot has everything the spring shoot had without the steak dinner and awards. Skeet, trap, wobble trap, 5-stand , pigeon ring, and Sporting Clays. This is more of a fun event for those who like getting out the double and having some fun. We can shoot from 9AM to 9PM so bring plenty of shells. The women will be fixing a light lunch for those who get hungry. Hope to see everyone again. Paul
I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully gunners PArker will be done and it will make its debut on your SC course.
Will our shell bags be ready??? |
Yes they will - at least the wife said they would.
What shell bags? Come on Paul give it up....:)
Sir Richard gave me a number of empty cloth shot bags [ the OLD style ] that could be made into bags for shells. So, my wife is going to sew a couple - one for Rich and one for me. Rich, she's gonna put some belt loops on the back - that sound ok ? Yours will be big enough for 100 shells. Paul
Paul, I am wondering if COB got the idea from my empty hull bag that is made from old STS shot bags. I am sure he has seen it a Ernies. I will take a pnoto of it later and post it here.
The idea entered my mind at a shoot in Freeland (thats in MI Dave) earlier this year. The gentalman had it on his gun caddy to hold empty shells.
Paul I was just looking for a bag big enough and strong enough to hold empties after a shoot. No need for belt loops as I can use my vest. I would like it to be able to hold more than 100 empties if possible. just a big bag with a draw string will work or whatever she comes up with is fine and will be an improvement. |
Ok, I'll tell her. Paul

Here ya go guys. It also has a drawstring sewn into the top.
I think I talked the wife into useing velcro - think it will work better than a draw string.
That will work.
Dave how many empties will that hold? |
I would guess at least 500 Rich. After a round of sporting shooting 100 targets I use up about 3 or 4 inches of the bag.
Rich, you have [ in that group of bags you gave me ] two bags sewn togeather with a shi**y draw string that will hold about 130 shells. The wife is gonna sew four togeather like the one Dave pictured. She'll do mine first with the velcro to see how it works. Who ever made that bag made the loop for the draw string a bit small - see if I can't find something to slide through it better.
Paul I didn't know there were two put together with a s%$#y draw string. Whatever the wife comes up with will be fine and undoubtly last forever. It will be a vast improvement over the Hefty garbage bag.
If you are in need of more cloth bags, I have plenty.
Jeff |
Thanks, but Rich had quite a few that he's getting back. paul
Bag is done - holds 225+
Excellent I look forward to the shoot.
Rich and Jeff,
I look forward to shooting with you guys! I know that Paul Harm will set you some challenging targets for our vintage SxS's! This is always a fun shoot. Mark |
Mark, it's gonna be the usual eazy course - no chairs or boats. And for all you non members of LCSC we're going to charge the same price for clays - $10. Anything else is $5. Hope to see everyone. Steve and I have been moving machines - try to make it different.
I'm bringing my Piegeon gun for sure and maybe a couple of others for the course. i hope your record of crappy weather is broken this time around:biglaugh:
Knock on wood - I'm not even going there [ the weather ]. We moved a couple more machines today. This week I'll turn some machines in play with the springs.

HEY!
It has not rained in Michigan in 3 months and you whiners are bitching about a little rain. Get over it and shoot. Haven't you ever duck hunted? Mark |
It has rained here quite a lot lately...just look at the grass. I just cut it and could do it again:cuss:
I have Gunners Parker in hand and will be there to shoot rain or shine. I gave up duck hunting years ago....because of the rain:rotf: |
I cut the grass AGAIN tonight:banghead: And it's raining right now:eek:
Saturday has a 30% chance of rain:crying::cuss: bring your RAIN GEAR it is LaPeer afterall:whistle: |
Think I'm gonna puke. We better get the 70% - no rain.
Last I heard was 30% chance of rain on Saturday:cuss: Oh well.:banghead:
Remember Paul Michigan is in a drought:rotf: Guess the farmers shouldn't called you sooner :corn: You might be able to make some money off this, schedule a shoot when they need rain and poof rain, you could make millions on this :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
It has rained here for two solid days:eek: Saginaw (about 60 miles from me) has already received over 7 inches of rain. The updated forcast for Saturday is a 50% chance of you guessed it RAIN:cuss::banghead:
Rich, I wouldn't know what the place looked like without precip. See you and the Gunner Gun there.
At least it won't be snowing!
I would like to thank Paul Harm and his crew for putting on another great shoot! We dodged the rain and had a great time. I'm sure there will be many pictures posted soon. We were even spoiled by a Parker 8ga. Thanks again!
I second Paul Stafford's appreciation for Paul Harm's work to prepare for and conduct a well organized and fun SxS event!
We lucked out with the rain for sure. FYI if your in a drought situation just have Paul schedule a shoot in your area:eek: Some places got over 7 inches in two days:shock:
It was a great time as always, good targets and good company. |
Come on boy's we need photographs....:corn:
