David

Dave Suponski 07-01-2012 08:46 AM

David, I neglected to mention that. Thank you for bringing that up.

Ticket prices are $65.00 each

Gary Carmichael Sr 07-01-2012 08:48 AM

David will we have a tent as in past meetings and are tables available for display? Gary

Dean Romig 07-01-2012 11:28 PM

Dave, at what point does the ticket price go up to $85? Last day of September seems to ring a bell...

Robin Lewis 07-01-2012 11:31 PM

Look on the PGCA events web page, I think all the info can be found there.

Dave Suponski 07-02-2012 07:03 AM

Thank You Robin!

David Dwyer 07-02-2012 08:14 AM

I talked to Rick Hemingway last week and they are providing PGCA with our own tent. They have also agreed to let Tom Carter put his camper next to it as a hospitality center- Rick is Good People
David Dwyer

Bill Murphy 07-03-2012 08:28 PM

Dave is the man. I hope he knows what a PGCA hospitality vehicle is expected to provide.

David Dwyer 07-04-2012 07:48 AM

Bill
Actually Tom Carter is the Man! This was his doing, spent some good money getting the camper as new, and I would not be surprised if there were some appropriate refreshments aboard. Tom also just got in the trophy's for the Parker Champion shoot and wait to you see the engraving on that!! The BOD is going all out to make this the best annual meeting yet. Y'all come on down!!!
David

Gary
Contact Josh to reserve a table. I have reserved an RV space for you .

Bill Murphy 07-04-2012 10:13 AM

An RV space for Gary may tax Rick Hemingway's 15,000 acres. Tom, apologies for giving Dave credit for the hospitality vehicle.

TimothySmith 07-16-2012 09:33 PM

Gents

I live one hour from Back Woods and I know Rich Hemingway. Plus I'm a member there.
It's a great place and have shot there many times. I plan on being there for the annual meeting. Bring your gun and shoot SC, 5 stand or hunt it's a great place.

Tim

Word to the wise, I called the 800 number to the Quality Inn and they said our block was sold out and there were only 3 rooms left starting at $89.99. We booked at the Jameson Inn next door and saved a few bucks.

Rich Anderson 07-25-2012 06:15 PM

I'll be there.....for the first annual meeting of the U.P. Grouse Hunters Benevolent Society located in Channing, MI on 6th street. Bird season isn't any better than the end of October.:rotf:

David Dwyer 07-26-2012 09:44 AM

Mills
I just talked to the manager,Brandy, at Quality Inn, Georgetown SC, 843-546-5656

David

Mills Morrison 07-26-2012 09:50 AM

Thanks David. I will try the local number.

David Dwyer 07-26-2012 09:58 AM

Quality Inn

Mills
Thanks. I talked to Brandy again and you MUST call the motel directly,843-546-5656 to get the $61.99 rate
David

Mills Morrison 07-26-2012 09:59 AM

Thanks. The person I talked to on the 800 number was "not from around these parts"

Dave Suponski 08-01-2012 06:53 PM

Just to carify things....The annual meeting and banquet will be at the Quality Inn, Georgetown SC

Dave Suponski 09-15-2012 08:45 AM

Just a reminder.....Today is September 15th Banquet ticket sales end on October 15th. If you have intentions of attending please do not delay....:)

Gary Carmichael Sr 09-28-2012 08:17 PM

Well, I took a trip down to Ricks Back Woods Quail facility Thursday to see if I could get My Motorhome in to the spaces. Was I surprised, Fantastic place plenty of room and it has to be one of the premiere shooting facilites in the South. It is 18 miles to Georgetown, short drive, I was able to take a tour and was impressed! Rick says they are hosting something almost every week. I think every one will be pleased, Gary

Mills Morrison 09-28-2012 08:29 PM

I joined the PGCA at the side by side show there last year. Looking forward to going back this year.

Dave Suponski 10-04-2012 02:28 PM

Gents, Today is October 4th ticket sales end on the 15th! Please do not delay if you have intentions of attending this wonderful event.

Bill Murphy 10-05-2012 08:38 AM

As Gary found out when he inquired about space to park his enormous motor home, Rick could park several 757s and still have room for 10,000 cars. This isn't the Spring Southern.

David Dwyer 10-05-2012 08:48 AM

Bill
I think Backwoods is one ,if not the finest, SC course in the country!! If you like to shoot this is the place.
David

Tom Carter 10-05-2012 09:36 AM

Backwoods

Mr. Bill, You are absolutely correct! Cheers, Tom

Mike.Smith 10-09-2012 09:35 PM

Alright, nothing like waiting to the last minute, but I booked my rooms tonight and will see you all in Georgetown. I was still able to get in at the Quality Inn under the parker rate, so if you haven't booked yet, it's not too late.

When do the festivities start? is everyone going down on Thursday or Friday?

Dave, I'll be mailing you a check tomorrow for my banquet ticket, so please save me a seat. Dean, Larry, I'll just ask that you guys don't bring me the check for THIS dinner.

Mike, were you able to get a non-smoking or a smoking room?

I had a significant amount of trouble getting a non-smoking room just a few days ago.

Mike.Smith 10-09-2012 10:52 PM

Hey Dean,

I called and talked to "Benny" tonight, and she was very helpful. Called the main number as others suggested in this post. She looked up the PGCA room block and confirmed that she still had rooms available at the $62 rate. She asked me for smoking or non, and I chose non-smoking. There didn't seem to be any issues. It's a single room with two double beds. One for me, and one for my DHE. :D

Mike

Gary Carmichael Sr 10-11-2012 08:46 AM

Well, I will not be taking the 747 down all my boys backed out and it is foolish to drive the bus down with just me in it. So, I booked a room, courtesy of Tom Carter, at the Quality Tuesday all they had left were smoking rooms, so they are fast running out of rooms! By the way I asked if the room reeked of cigarette smoke, the lady said she did not think so, the gentleman that had the room prior to me was named Bill something and he had a box of cigars and two women with him, go figure! Gary

Eric Eis 10-11-2012 10:04 AM

Sorry I am going to miss the fun, but to choose between being in the woods shooting real birds (if I ever see one) to shooting clays, well I guess you know what I will decide... You guys have fun

Bill Murphy 10-11-2012 12:17 PM

Eric, I'll be taking a short bank of manual pigeon traps and a cage of birds from our October shoot. Come on down.

Eric Eis 10-11-2012 12:27 PM

Thanks for the offer Bill but I am already booked up. Hopefully I'll see all of you at the Southern

Rich Anderson 10-11-2012 07:42 PM

Gary did your buddies decide to go bird hunting instead??? Sorry I just couldn't resist:rotf:

I have a spare room with two twin beds and kennel space at camp. I'll be there, you can too.

Gary Carmichael Sr 10-13-2012 09:13 AM

No, They are bidding on some jobs and in todays economy, this take precedent. Megan, would like to go but we can not leave our 14year old lab, as she is quickly approaching the rainbow bridge, and can not travel! So she will stay in V.A. till the time comes! Gary

Fred Preston 10-13-2012 09:06 PM

Open day, COB; How you like the weather up there?

Rich Anderson 10-15-2012 05:42 PM

I got rained out this weekend but did accomplish a nice piece of business in Negaunee on the way.
