Thanks for the great pictures Mike! You've got some terrific shots of what it was all about - good friends and good times! It was good to spend time with you too.
Yours is about the best picture I've seen of Rich Anderson's "Hollywood Gun". |
Mike,
Those are the most excellant photos!!! Thanks for capturing a few shot of me. Those are usually quite rare :) Respectfully, Mark |
Mike, It was great to meet and hang out with you! Fantastic pictures! Thanks for taking the time to record our antics... Will we see you at the Fall Southern?

Mark's "Big Friend Tens" make him look thin and wiry.... Do my twenty-eights make me look fat???[/QUOTE] Dean, Mark really is thin and wirery. Nuff said. |

:corn: On the other hand I notice I make my sixteen look slender |
That is a very common problem among you older guys. You should try to stay trim like Mark and I.....
|
Oh..!!
|
Dean,
Obviously the only solution is for you to start shooting a 10 gauge! :) I have a #5 Frame Lifter Action that I could loan you at next year's Hausmann's. Or how about the 36" GH 10 that I traded Don K. for? You would look like a GQ male model shooting one of those! Seriously, there is something magic about the performance of the Short Ten! Mark :) |
Quote:
Second, Dean is a small bore guy, quietly he believes us 10 bore shooters are compensating. However I think he will come around and realize performance is enhanced when you have a big one  |
Mike your pictures are awesome. I thank you and Mark for recording our antics for posterity. Dean, I'm with you. I can hear it now... "Does this gun make my butt look fat"? Thanks to all for a great time.
|
Hmmm, I think compensating would have more to do with barrel length don't you think? I do believe I'm shooting a 26" gun in most of the pictures above. I'm just sayin.
Dave, I'm looking forward to the next SxS event. I know the Vintagers is coming up in September, but the Fall Southern is in SC I believe, which would be much better for me. It didn't sound like that one would be well attended though, since it's during hunting season? I'm not familiar with either event, so if you guys have opinions, or events you'll be attending, let me know. JB, the camera is a Fuji S5 Pro, very similar to a Nikon D200 (Digital SLR), but it's several years old. I don't want to give you the impression it's all the camera though. I do quite a bit of photography and there is some work done with editing software to get them that sharp. Mike |
Mike, The PGCA will be at Vintagers in RI in Sept. we will have display tables just like Hidden Hollow. The sporting clays course is second to none so there is some powder to be burned....:) This years Fall Southern will also host our annual meeting and banquet. These boys have pulled out all the stops for shooting opportunities also.
|
Mike,
It's true that the Fall Southern which is this year the annual meeting for the PGCA may not be as well attended due to hunting season (no I won't be there) but it looks like a great course and you would have a great time if you decide to go. Just wish it was some other time of the year :banghead: |
Mike it was good meeting you and shooting and drinking beer with you also. For a new PGCA member you fit right in with the old crowd.
Excellent pics..don't forget about the Parker Calander that was discussed;) |

At dinner Saturday evening at The Pines restaurant we had a bit of fun at Mike's (newbie) expense. It was a great dinner and we all had fun and everything was on one tab for about a dozen of us at one long table. When our waitress came with the check we informed her that in our group it was customary that the most recent addition to our gathering (Mike) was expected to pick up the tab and that the good lookin' guy with the beard at the middle of the table was this newcomer. We asked that she kindly give the check to him while explaining our custom. As she did this and a look of progressive horror came over his face we all began to stand, thanking him very kindly for his generosity.... Mike looked very uneasy at this point... and we all began a hearty round of applause but we couldn't take it too far and we let him know it was just a gag.
Here's mike looking very relieved!! . |
Ha!, I have to hand it to you Dean, that was a good one. Yes I'll say I wasn't expecting a check that size, especially when I was late to dinner, and all I had was one beer!
|
I cannot tell a lie... It was Larry's idea.
|
I pity anyone reading this thread that still has the old dial up connection:eek:
