Very nice Josh, that is one of the nicest engraved Parker's I've ever seen.

+ 1 on the AHE 20ga. That is one beautiful Parker!

Ps. If you want to see A grades, come to the annual meeting at Backwoods Quail Club in October. That is our display theme this year!

The above gun is owned by a dear friend. I don't know if he will let me bring it to the meeting.

So I just bought a DHE 16. It is my first Parker and I am really psyched. It is 1 frame. On the barrels it says 2 then possibly a decimal then 4. Not sure if that is 2/14 or 2/4. The gun weighs 6lbs 9 oz.

I am adding a couple pictures. Can someone let me know if the 3 means the barrels weigh 3 lbs. If yes what is the 2.4 between the barrels.
Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

The 2.4 you see on the face of the lug should be 204 or 214 - the last 3 digits of the serial no.

The 3 superscript 4 on the barrel flats is the unstruck barrel weight - 3# 4oz.

The last photo of the bottom of the barrel lug indicates #1 frame 16ga.

Carl.

Carl, thank you very much. Still learning about my new gun :) Is 3# 4 oz and average weight for a 16 barrel?

And "T" for Titanic, the name Parker Brothers gave to the steel your barrel tubes are made of. A DHE 16 is a hot find. Can you give us some pictures of the whole gun? 3-4 is an average weight for a light 16 barrel set.

I pulled out my VH 20ga w/ 26" barrels and they came in 3 oz heavier than yours at 3 lbs 1 oz. Was there a standard weight?
I am picking up my O frame DHE 16 after work today from a friend who was using it to pattern a stock, that gun comes in at a sweet 6#(factory letter) and I will post the weight tomorrow.

Thank you guys. Here are some more pictures of the gun. I have sent for a letter.

Not an ugly gun. What's the deal with the buttplate? I would kill to shoot a bird with that gun.

Steve Leffler 05-23-2012 09:28 AM

Thank you Bill. Original DHBP. In excellent condition. I can't wait for fall to put it to work on the grouse and woodcock

Harold Lee Pickens 05-24-2012 12:32 PM

DHE 16 o frame--3# 1oz, same as my VH 20- both have 26" barrels
