I finally got a Parker that you can trace back to a person instead of a hardware store. As you can see from the letter it was purchased by Henry Eckhardt. He was born in Germany where he learned his trade and then moved to Sacramento, Ca. He was a gunsmith as well as an engraver. Being a gunsmith I wonder if he cut the bbls to the 27 inches they are now.

Looks like my next in line statis has gone bye bye. Nice find and thanks for the pics. Dave

Sorry David! But she's a keeper.

Dean Romig 04-22-2012 10:06 AM

Nice find Angel! Looks like it still has a bunch of choke too. I like the flying duck on the underside of the frame... not your common standing grouse we usually see.

Angel Cruz 04-22-2012 10:17 AM

Thanks Dean, I think the flying duck is a nice touch. Right now the chokes are Mod/Mod.

Very, very nice Angel. What does the wood look like? Usually wood from that era on a grade 2 is really nice.

Russ Jackson 04-22-2012 08:52 PM

Angel ,Very nice ,I will surely enjoy shooting her when we swap guns:) ! Does it have the lightening cuts like the 16 Ga. Hammer you sold me a while back ?

Angel Cruz 04-22-2012 08:55 PM

Thanks Daryl. The wood is nothing special, just some nice straight grain.

Dean Romig 04-22-2012 09:17 PM

It is quite a testimonial to the Parker Bros. Shotgun when a well-respected gunsmith orders a Parker - whether for himself or for a client.

Angel Cruz 04-22-2012 09:25 PM

Russ, no lightening cuts, just on a 0 frame and wts 7lbs 2ozs. When you need to use it let me know well in advance!!:)
