Parker Display at NRA Convention-St. Louis

We will have a large display of Parker shotguns and memorabilia at the NRA convention in St Louis on April 13-15. Expect to see about 30-40 nice Parkers of various grades and gauges.

Thanks to members with raffle ticket sales and to the generosity of dealers and PGCA members such as Jim Julia and Jack Puglisi for helping make our participation in these events possible.

"Thanks to members with raffle ticket sales and to the generosity of dealers and PGCA members such as Jim Julia and Jack Puglisi for helping make our participation in these events possible. "

Bruce, it's John Puglisi.

Dean Romig 03-29-2012 11:04 PM

Eric, it was Jack who was so instrumental in helping in making our participation possible.

Not to detract from John's superb job of carrying on the Puglisi's Gun Emporium enterprise, but Bruce was correct in his statement.

John Puglisi has a significant heritage and has our best hopes for successfully continuing the fine gun business.

Nobody has given more money, thousands of dollars, to the PGCA than Jim Julia.

Both are fine and valued PGCA members who have done much for the Parker collecting community.

Dean, I took it in the wrong tense, meaning today and that was why I said what I did, I'm sorry that I took the Bruce's statement the wrong way, Jack was a very close friend and so is John. Eric

I knew what you meant... just wanted to clarify.

The PGCA will have a 10x20 booth at the NRA convention. Please be sure to stop by and visit if you will be attending. As with any of our events, they never happen without our hardworking volunteers.

Special thanks to those that have and continue to step forward to support our organization through the sharing of their time, talents, and, treasure. That's where the rubber meets the road with the PGCA.

We are going to really put on the show for this one and will have some of the most famous Parkers there. I'm at the Tulsa gun show now if there are any other Parker people around. Hanging around with Rip Watson and George Caswell on row 28 upper level.

Josh Loewensteiner 04-04-2012 11:15 AM

Sounds like a great display is coming together. The PGCA's 10x20 booth will feature Parkers of all eras and gauge and grade.

For those that are fortunate to attend the convention, please stop by and say hello to the members that are donating their time to man the event.

Oh yeah- dont forget to check out the raffle gun and pick up a few tickets!

Bruce, How was the Tulsa show? I wanted to make it but youth turkey was open and took the boys out. Think I'll try to make one day of NRA show if possible.

The Tulsa show had a good variety of Parkers, mostly ordinary but a couple unusual ones, like 410's. Good dealer turnout and huge crowds, and the crowds were buying. Was a good show. The usual assortment of beef jerky, Pakistani knives, Christmas ornaments, fake Nazi stuff for the skinhead and Timothy McVeigh crowd, survival manuals, knife fighting manuals for the wannabe crowd, black guns. Interesting overweight woman wearing a Twin Peaks t shirt. I knew I shouldn't look but I did.

Hung out with Doug Turnbull, talked to Tony G and Lou Frutoso, Jason from Puglisi's, chilled with George Caswell and my buddy Rip Watson, saw nice Brownings, Winchesters, Colts, some Parkers (nice but nothing compelling for me) , Bob Skeuse, bunch of old buds. Listened to Jay Shachter tell me how he was at an eastern gun show and one of our experts came by with beginner Parker people in tow and grabbed a gun off Jay's rack and proceeded to teach his students that the barrels were clearly cut because of no distinct rib matting end, until Jay measured the barrels for him right at 30 and produced the research letter specifying 30. Listened to another gun dealer just outright lie to a friend dealer about a gun ( "its not really loose on the face, the factory made them that way") . Typical gun show.

Funny stuff there Bruce - but kind of sad too.

Bringing this notice back to the top about the NRA show in St Louis, starting on Friday. We expect 70,000 to 80,000 attendees. We'll be along with other vintage gun exhibitors such as Frank Finch and the L C Smith people. We have Charlie Herzog, Dave Weber, Wes Stueber, Ed and Dick Morgan and me at our PGCA booth. We'll have 30-40 Parkers of all grades and gauges and the pre Czar Czar's gun shown in TPS.

Sometimes people mention that they have little opportunity to see fine Parkers unless they travel to PGCA and other events on the east coast. This NRA convention is another opportunity, as was the Kansas City Pheasant Fest in Feb.

Dean Romig 04-07-2012 09:26 PM

Thanks to Charlie, Dave, Bruce, Wes, Ed and Dick for stepping up and being the "face of the PGCA" and in representing us all as nicely as they do.
