Ken Descovich 03-11-2012 02:29 PM

Hi Charlie,
Well I happened to be at a antique show today and there it was. It is a grade zero twist barreled Parker, it is a number 1 frame hammer gun with fishtails top lever the barrel are 4lbs 9 oc struck and measure 36 inches.

Dean Romig 03-11-2012 02:38 PM

What gauge please?

Ken Descovich 03-11-2012 02:43 PM

Sorry dean it is 12 gauge

Dean Romig 03-11-2012 02:46 PM

Wow! A 36" barreled 12 ga. on a 1-frame... very scarce configuration.

Ken Descovich 03-11-2012 02:53 PM

I was pretty pleased when I ran across it.

charlie cleveland 03-11-2012 04:41 PM

you lucky fellow...i bet shes still in shooting shape too....you gotta take her dove hunting for sure.... charlie

Ken Descovich 03-11-2012 04:50 PM

I wouldn't have a problem shooting it in the condition it is in. It just needs a little cleaning up. My local club does not allow hammer guns at the trap range so I will have to wait till I get some time in the field.

Ken

charlie cleveland 03-11-2012 05:24 PM

ken why do they not allow hammer guns..... charlie

Ken Descovich 03-11-2012 05:32 PM

THe guys in charge believe there is a safety issue. I've tried to change there minds but they have issues with the kids that are new with shooting.

Robin Lewis 03-11-2012 05:39 PM

Don't they all have hammers? Some are inside and some aren't.

Ed Blake 03-11-2012 06:02 PM

A #1 frame 12 with 36" barrels! Please post pictures. You hit a home run with that one. It's a shame the people in charge of range safety know so little about shotguns.

Ken Descovich 03-11-2012 06:20 PM

Here is a picture with my daughters cat getting into the mix.

Ken: You hit a home run for sure. I was curious if the people you bought it from had some history on this looooong Parker. Thomas

Dave Suponski 03-11-2012 06:31 PM

Nice find Ken, Congratulations! You just gotta get a letter on that gun!

Ken Descovich 03-11-2012 06:41 PM

No history to speak of. I just checked to see if my shotgun can be researched and it can so I will be sending for a letter tomorrow!

Ken

Dave Suponski 03-11-2012 06:56 PM

Ken, Please share it with us when it arrives...:)

Ken Descovich 03-11-2012 07:00 PM

will do:)

John Truitt 03-11-2012 07:17 PM

Thats a keeper. Thanks for sharing. Very cool.
What does she weigh? I am sorry to hear about your trap ranges rules. Their loss.

Ken Descovich 03-11-2012 07:37 PM

John,
I do not have a very accurate scale, but the barrel weight shows 4# 9oc.

I believe they have had a misshap at the range before, probably not pulling the hammers back all the way and firing off a round before they were ready.

Here is a photo of the letter recieved from Mark Conrad, Thanks Mark!

Josh Loewensteiner 03-30-2012 03:40 PM

Very interesting- this gun was in the same shipment as this year's raffle gun! Ordered and shipped on the same dates!

Ken Descovich 03-30-2012 11:00 PM

Rumor has it that that order was a large order and there was around thirty similar guns like mine in that order.
