The "New" Spring 2012 Parker Pages
OK, so I haven't read it cover to cover. However, I have found a diamond among the writings of our members. The second to the last paragraph of Austin Hogan's article, as yet unread, suggests that we not disparage the doubtful provenance of another man's gun, but give him the tools and knowledge to properly investigate that provenance. Thank you, Austin, for that profound suggestion.

New Spring Parker Pages
Right on, Bill. Otherwise it's just top-down technical and bureaucratic interference which we all deplore. Thanks for that.

Just read Donald Mills amazing pheasant hunt, A Parker, a Dog, Some Birds and a Bear. Really enjoyed it Don and glad everything worked out for you and your dog.
Bruce your Sandhills Sharptail Shootout was a great article, I was out there in 2010..Hay Springs... on a Mulley hunt and read about the hunt in a sporting paper and it sounded like a fun hunt... now I really would love to make it some day. |
Has anyone received their spring 2012 copy yet?

I saw John Frierson at the Columbia Gun Show on Saturday. I had already bought his book and had him autograph it for me. My Parker Pages was in the mail box when I got back. I have sold John several Parkers over the years and, let me tell you, he is tough to deal with, but a great sportsman and individual. Havilah Babcock was my English professor at The University of South Carolina in the 60's and you could always tell if class was going to be short or cancelled if Professor Babcock had on his hunting clothes and his dog was in the car outside.

We have a lot of snow this winter... it will take the dog teams a long time to get my issue to me.
