Doubles pin

Who do we inquire to about a doubles pin? 4 doubles this year. Doves and ducks. Coyotes and crows. The old D 10 hammer gun collected them all. Dave

Contact Mary Bowes at pgcamembership@gmail.com

She will get you enrolled and get your pin(s) to you in the blink of an eye.

Dean, thanks for the info. Dave

I do some crow hunting from time to time and have wondered if a double on crows would qualify for a pin? Coyotes don't fly so I am not sure how you can shoot two in the air at one time.

I have called in and killed 2 pair of coyotes in 30 years of calling. You try it. And use a hammer gun to boot.

If the PGCA gave doubles pins for crows they wouldn't have any left, Scott K. and I would have all the pins :rotf:

I have a couple of coyotes that have no respect! At 20 yd. they just stand there when im on the tractor. Bring that 10 ga. over!

David Holes 03-04-2012 06:19 PM

The old 10 ga. does get some respect around here. Dave

Under Awards & Recognition criteria, the doubles pin is an award that recognizes the dropping of two game birds while both are in the air at the same time.

The skill displayed in calling two 'yotes into range of the 10 ga hammer gun and dispatching both with said gun is impressive and not in question.

What do they do if you stop and open a door?

We have farmers hunt deer and coyotes out of thier tractors. It works great and most times if engine is running and tractor stops they just stop and look. Dave

Harry "Nucky" Shourdes, the famous and still living NJ decoy carver, once killed 5 out of 7 Clapper rails put up in one flush while being poled through the Absecon salt marshes using a cylinder bored 20 gauge. Too bad it was a Winchester Model 12 instead of a Parker!

PGCA, Thanks much for the Doubles Pins. They go great with my Parker stuff. 3 years ago I went after my first double for a pin . It didn't prove easy that year. I took a 410 fox one day and shot 3 doubles, thinking it would be easy with a Parker. But it did not happen that year. Last year the D10 hammer gun made up for it. Thanks Again, Dave
