Who's a good Brittany breeder in NH?

An online search came up with "Triumphant" and "Omega" kennels...anyone have anything to say about these breeders?

Please feel free to recommend your favorite as well...

Thanks!

Ron - What is your intention for this dog? Field Trials?, Hunt tests? Casual Hunting - grouse or pheasant? Couch potato? I think depending on your answer, you may want different breeders.

No field trials, no tests...hunting Grouse, woodcock, pheasant and family companion only! (With a Parker SXS of course!)

I don't have any direct experience with Brits (Springers were my bag), but I would try to contact the local Brittany Club (you should be able to locate them thru the AKC), and visit one of their training sessions, and find out who is involved in Hunt Tests. Those dogs will not be a big-running as field trial dogs, and you'll be able to watch performace of various kennels or individual dogs. That's what dragged me into 15 years of Springerhood.

I would PM John Dunkle. He lives in NH and owns two Brittanies and his dogs are great hunters. Allan Swanson in Eastern VT also owns and hunts Brittanies.

I hunt with two guys with very good Brittanies and I asked them your question; their reply was:

"Not exactly in NH, but close enough. Dave and I had good luck with dogs from Kirby Mountain Kennels. He’s located in Vermont – East Burke, a bit North of St. Johnsbury."

I highly recommend Steve Del Rossi and Quail Hollow Kennels. Steve is in south Jersey- not NH. However I live in the far NW corner of Iowa and have owned 3 of his Brits. They all have been (or will be in case of the most recent addition) outstanding hunters. I use them for Roosters, woodcock and grouse.

It can't be that far a drive from NH to Salem NJ. Besides he will fly them to wherever you are.

Walt,

Did you find your Brittany? We lost our Brittany in January and have reserved a Female from Larry Mize in Pulaski Tennessee. The litter just arrived a week ago today and they really look great.

I have a 21/2 year old Brittany from Ray Gorman. He is in Colebrook NH. Nice little dog loves to hunt.
