A Question
Has any of us seen a 16 gauge Parker on a 1 1/2 frame? I was looking up some stuff in the "Parker Story" last evening and the thought came up.
|
Never Dave, and I've seen some heavy 16's that weigh as much as a 12. Never say never though. I've never seen or heard of a 16 as other than an 0 or 1. Kaas likes the big ones and maybe he has run into one.

Just tagging onto Dave's thread, was the 16 ever made on the 1/2 frame or was that strictly a twelve gauge frame size?
Eric, what is the frame size on your NIB Skeet 16? |
Strictly 12, Dean. Maybe.

Looking at some of the post back in June, Bill Murphy bought a 3 frame 16. That would make me believe, there is a 1 1/2 out there somewhere.

You would have to think there may have been made a two barrel set ,a 12 Bore and possibly a 16 Bore on a 1-1/2 Frame ?

I have two 16 skeet guns a VHE and a GHE both are on #1 frames.
Dave you were thinking???:rotf: |
Ya Rich..I was thinking...I was thinking of how good ALL these chocolate chip cookies Kathy gave Danny for his birthday taste....:bigbye:
PS...Be safe in Wyoming and good hunting..:) |
There was a rough #2 frame 16 gauge floating around a year or so ago.

Dean, sorry I missed this post. My NIB 16 ga skeet gun is on a one frame.

I have a 16 on a half frame but it wasn't made that way. However, there is no reason why Remington couldn't have made a 16 on a half frame. What a shotgun. If I can do it, they certainly could have done it.

My one frame 30 inch 16 ga weighs 7 pounds 0 ounces. It has considerable swamp to a straight taper just forward of chambers. A straight taper 16 / one could go 7 1/2 or maybe 7 3/4 pounds. However, we know there are many heavy twenties on the 1 1/2 frame.
I didn't count but there seem to be about twice as many 20 / 32 inch guns as 16 / 32 inch guns. It may have been easy to get the desired weight on a 16/32 on a one frame, but necessary to go to the 1 1/2 to make weight on a 20/32 Best, Austin |
