Trojan Checkering ?

Was this pattern ever used at manufacture?

calvin humburg 12-11-2011 06:13 AM

I think Trojan's were pretty standard. I would say no but we shall see. ch I may do some research if I get done Deer hunting:banghead: Kids, gotta love em:)

Dean Romig 12-11-2011 07:06 AM

Nope. Parker never used that checkering pattern on any of their guns.

calvin humburg 12-11-2011 07:13 AM

I was reading about the Trojan. Whats the story about the 10 guage twist "Trojans"? Do you have any opinions. Kind of a oximoran <--- :) no? ch

Didn't think it would be factory but have learned here to "never say never", thus the question. Only have pics. It also looks like the frame is drilled above the hammer screw. Wonder what that might be about? No intention to pursue this one.

There were some 12 gauge 'Twist' Trojans. I believe someone here recently purchased one.

calvin humburg 12-11-2011 03:27 PM

41 12 guage, 7 10 guage. Production statistics show no 10 guage made maybe there not listed because....

I'm going out on a limb here Jack, and I know it, but I'll reiterate - Parker never used that checkering design on any guns they produced.

Jack Cronkhite 12-11-2011 05:58 PM

Wow !! Are you saying "never" and really mean it

Dean Romig 12-11-2011 06:03 PM

Just this once.

Brian Dudley 12-11-2011 08:32 PM

That pattern is not correct for a Trojan in many different ways. The action panels would have never been checkered, and especially not in that type of pattern. The wrist checkering pattern is also not correct for a trojan. The checkering is also too fine and it should not be fully pointed up.

Not to mention that the border is not correct for any Parker gun. Also, the quality is lacking to be mistaken for factory Parker.

Looks like someone just got a bit creative with their checkering.

If it were mine, I would try to "save" it by putting full "B and up" style action panel checkering on it. Would still not be correct, but it would look better.

What is the souce of this gun Jack? Yours?

Jack Cronkhite 12-12-2011 01:19 AM

Presently, U.S. and Canadian dollars are trading at about Par - perhaps a penny or two either way. Bigger hassle is getting it back across the border. Hard to do, unless you have a Canadian Possesion and Acquisition License

Jack Cronkhite 12-12-2011 01:25 PM

$850 plus shipping.

To me that is more than it is worth.
Jack

Brian Dudley 12-12-2011 05:02 PM

Yeah, your right Jack. There are many other Trojans to be had for that price that do not have the issues that this one has. Might be a tad rougher in some ways, but at least original.

And that's good thing. It looks wrong on every level.

calvin humburg 12-13-2011 06:39 AM

charlie cleveland 12-13-2011 11:58 AM
