was sorting through my loose shells today and was wondering how you fellas displayed your single shells... im open to ideas and hopefully some pictures...mine has set in the corner in a big box for to long.... charlie

Charlie, I made these racks as a weekend project. Oak slats and blocks purchased at Lowes home center. A few holes bored on the drill press, some stain,screws = Wall mounted shell racks. The basic idea could be modified to suit your needs. HTH:cheers:

I do not display my collection, but use small Plano lure boxes. Each one has 5 equal sized compartments that hold all shells up to, and including, the 3-1/2" 10 gauge. I have different boxes for 8s and 4s. I have used these little tackle boxes for 20 years and have never experienced any degradation of my specimens, including rifle and pistol cartridges. They stack neatly and offer excellent protection for my shells.

I love that second photo. A real Parker man always properly aligns all screw slots. Very few people will walk thru my house and notice the screws on every electrical outlet are regulated but I see it.:)

Larry, Glad my obsession has not gone unnoticed. It has become a debilitating disease. A turnscrew in every room of the house just in case,one in each pocket (concealed carry) for out of house emergencies. Side effect of the Parker disease I suppose.:rotf::rotf:

You mean to tell me that there are actually people out there who install outlet plates without regulating the screws?! Tell me it's not true!! BTW Robert, the second and third brass screws are a tad off.... :rolleyes:

That one phillips head screw needs aligning, too!:banghead:

Richard and Greg, Thanks to your sharp eyes you have helped divert disaster in my home! :bowdown:I'm convinced there are evil forces in the universe that cause screws to become deregulated if not constantly monitored. To all you naysayers,:nono: check your switch cover screws as you head to the kitchen for that second cup of coffee this morning!
After verifying your observation, I broke out the required tools and made a complete sweep of the house. Many other deregulations were found and corrected. There now is a calm, restfull atmosphere in the house as all is well in the cosmos.Photographic evidence provided below.:)
P.S. Have happily noted that Parker shot guns kept stored in their gun cabinets do not suffer from this afflicion!:)

Robert, Robert, Robert---don't make me come out there! You're not quite done yet, you need to swap out the square drive screw for a phillips head screw so they all match (top right, 2nd rack). Make darn sure it's aligned properly!:cuss:

Greg, I think you have a loose screw in your monitor.I almost went and looked,:rotf: but there aint no stinkin square drive screws in anything I build.:)

Mea culpa Robert, I should have known better! I have an iPad that allows one to zoom right in at it, you'd swear that that screw is a square drive when viewed on the iPad. To double check myself, I then went and logged on with my laptop, saved your pic and then zoomed in to determine that I was wrong and you are right--sorry. Nonetheless, it is misaligned in your pic--I trust you straightened it out! ;)

:rotf::rotf: If there's a lady about in your house,you better hope she never finds out how much trouble you went to,just to check another guys screw alignment. She'll have a honey dew list for you a mile long!! :rotf::rotf:

I have made a base from oak and glass (3 3/4 in.).This fits under the cabinets in "Man Cave" kitchen and extends thoughout the room at 5 ft. just above a stone wall and shelf.
With proper spaceing, I've added some old gun cleaning tools and boxes from solvents.
I have mixed the colors and the guages and perfer well marked shells that stand upright. Mix in some end view(brass) for some variation.

This was a great read! Still smiling I'm doing my Daughter's Bathroom can bet when that project is done all screws will be in time.

I got out of my 110 at the store one day and discovered all four of my tire valves were exactly at 12 O'clock. I was so excited, I didn't want to leave.
