I flew down to St Michaels last Monday to do a hands on inspection with two friends that are Parker guys. After spending 3 hours handling guns, I came away with nothing in my sights for the live sale. My two friends both plan to bid on a number of the offerings. As you would expect, we were treated very well by the G&D staff. Good luck if you plan to participate or like me just watch the show.

I got my items. Mixed bag on hammer prices for sure. You could have had a lot of really great 12 bores for not much. Great auction Josh!

Yup, Dylan, this auction may have been 12 gauge heaven. However, guns with serious condition, 12 gauge or not, are a seller's dream.

Lot 40 for Mr. Mike?

My LB Hunt painting sold for $33.8k:) . I decided yesterday to place a bid on a Parker last evening, lot 13 and won!! :cool: I really like BH grade damascus Parkers.

Congrats on your new B grade Mr. Larter, it will make a fine addition to your beautiful collection.

I won 4 items of the 7 I bid on. I had about 20 on watch just for entertainment. This is the first time I won any with my initial bid and I actually won t of the 4 that way. I also had zero problem with missing the bidding with a winning opening bid. I am glad to see they seem to have responded to comments and really improved the system.

I generally buy "off brand" items through this auction. With all the high quality and price items (Parker and otherwise), competeing in that segment has never been in the cards for me. When bidding online, I am generally more of a bargain hunter for my more eclectic areas of interest. I got a few unique items in those areas (SBT's and single shot guns) but I also splurged on a sentimental pick. One of the two guns I bought my father for Father's day the spring after I left college and got a job was an Ithaca Ultraweight 20 ga M37 with a 25" barrel. We were both fans of the M37 smallbores. In high school he had purchased a used16 ga and I had hunted with it for years. He saw the 20g in a store and fell in love with it but couldn't afford it. It weighed right at 5 pounds and carried like a dream. He was a fanatical grouse hunter but never owned a dog. This was pretty common in Eastern KY. He pounded the ruffs with that gun for years. On his death, I had my mother give the M37 to my 7 year old nephew (his older grandson). I always said I would buy another one when I found the right gun. The one in the auction struck me as the one. I paid a ridiculous amount (probably 33% over its true value), but some things you just have to do. My grouse hunting days are over (it's a physically serious sport in KY) but I will enjoy owning it and when I am done it will go to my Dad's only other grandchild so they will both have one to keep.

I didn't win anything.
I really wanted the Repro 20/20/16, but thought $9000 plus the juice and tax was too much.

I'm not an L.C. Smith guy but I found Lot #107 that Glahn engraved gun interesting. Would have been a lot more interesting if it had its original barrels.

I handled that gun a bit on Wednesday and it felt good in my hands !

If money were meant to be held onto,
they would have made it with handles.
