Raising dent in damascus barrels
 

I need a recommendation for someone to raise a dent in a Parker damascus barrel. The dent is quite sharp and shows clearly on the inside of the tube. This is an otherwise very nice high-grade Parker and I want to be as certain as possible that the repair is done properly and with great care.

I live in the northwestern corner of Washington state but would be happy to ship the barrels anywhere to have the dent professionally raised.

Hi John - Breck Gorman does a great job of lifting dents. Jon Hosford has done sone for me as well.
Brian Dudley is probably a good choice as well.
Trevor Rice does very nice work, having been trained by his grandfather Buck Hamlin.
Then there's Earl Zimmerman who has done some beautiful work for me.

I'm sure there are more but none I've dealt with.

Depending on it's orientation, a sharp dent on composite barrels can be problematic. Breck Gorman works with Glenn Fewless, and Glenn is a master at laser welding.

Thanks to Dean and Edgar I'm now in touch with Breck and the dent problem will be addressed. Just for fun I'm including a "before" photo here and will follow up with an "after" photo so everyone can follow along.

That looks completely repairable - it's right in the middle of a crolle.

Those barrels look like DD (finest) Damascus.

That acute angle will very likely open up, but Breck will handle getting it to Glenn and back again. It will barely be detectable.

I had a worse one in a 20 gauge Damascus barrel. Breck was able to lift it without any surgery or welding.
