I thought I would say hello from Jim Thynne

Still kicking at 84 and still involved in the shotgun world. I thought that someone out there would remember me!! Howdy from Mohave Valley Arizona. Great trap and skeet fields up the road! My phone # is 714-501 4510... Jim

Buddy Marson 03-08-2026 06:44 PM

Jim,
I bought my first Parker from you. It was a DHE 32" miller trigger, beavertail. I won a number of events with that gun. Thanks for the memories!
Buddy

Daryl Corona 03-08-2026 07:07 PM

Wasn't my first Parker but it was a DHE 20 with 32" barrels purchased when you and Jerry were at the Sandanona Vintage cup many moons ago. At 76 I'm not far behind. Good to here from you.

Dave Noreen 03-08-2026 08:29 PM

Good to hear from you, Jim!! I just turned 80 last month. I know for sure I got a 16-gauge SP-Grade A.H. Fox and a 28-gauge Superposed from you and Jerry at Las Vegas shows. Have always wished you had been more emphatic about the rarity of the Ithaca Lefever A-Grade .410-bore you had there one year!!

Hi Jim - I well remember you and Jerry Kitto’s Ivory Beads.
So glad to know you’re still on the green side of the grass my Friend!

Ivory Beads will be recognized as a really big part of collecting history. Too bad you didn't have a presence on the East Coast. Congratulations from another "80" guy.

Howdy Jim,

Great to hear from an old friend. I'll always cherish the days we spent together on our many Argentina dove adventures together. Some of the old gang is heading down Argentine way next month but unfortunately you & I will only be with them in spirt for this one.

I hope you are happy and doing well in Arizona. Keep smiling my friend.

John Albano 03-09-2026 09:19 AM

Jim, Thank you for your note. You helped me into a Fox or two over the years in Vegas. Always a gentleman. John

Shootin Parkers

One of the best memories I have of shooting with you is when we were in a shoot off at the California State Side X Side championships for the 25 yard trap. You were shooting a 32" BHE beavertail Trap gun and I really wanted that gun.
Unfortunately, you weren't selling it just then. Later, I was surprised when you told me how it unnerved you when I yelled to my friend to bring me a bunch of shells because we were going to be there a while. Of course, I wasn't trying to do that, I just knew you were a good shot, and we might have to shoot a bunch of targets to see who won. Those were great days Jim. Take care and good shooting to you. Larry

Dave is that the SPR 16? if it is it is one of one I got the gun from the Meyer Ponteprino collection. It was one of the rarest Fox guns ever made

I love all of you guys, It was a great time. I started at age 14 with my first Parker and the 22 of this month I will be 84. A friend of mine and I have been sampling his Scotch beverage along with cigars, so spelling may be out of order. What a great ride 70 years with Parkers foxes and Smiths. Thank you for those that did business with Jerry and myself........ It wa fun!

Jim, Don Criswell introduced us at the old Las Vegas show. We did a little gun trading when I had my shop in Nashville. Good to hear you are doing well and still shooting. John Allen

Dave is that the SPR16? I got that gun from a very famous collection, if that is the gun. I believe it is the only 16 SPR ever made!

Jim Thynne 03-14-2026 05:40 PM

So many memories and so many old friends, I wish the Vegas Show would get back to the basics, It was my favorite!!

todd allen 03-14-2026 07:30 PM

Hi Jim. I will never forget having dinner with you just off the Las Vegas Strip, having a show and tell in their parking lot, Remember the 32" Runge-Del Greco A1 special Trap Gun? Also the 2 barrel set DHE "Doctor's Gun.
Remember Bob Sanchez's pigeon ring in Corona? There's a lot of memories out there.
We lived thru some golden years! We'll live out this season of life, and meet on the other side.
